We visited by boat a few years ago and the place was deserted and dismal. We were thrilled to find several visiting boats, a cafe with folks sitting out enjoying the sunshine and a hire fleet. Much better

There were 7 narrowboats moored whilst we were here. Nothing much happening in the Basin itself but a short walk to the town center with a lot of shops and attractions. Valley Cruises has a hire boat center in the one arm of the Basin....More

What a shame ... the canal basin is lost in time...a fantastic location but it needs some local government investment to bring it back to life....it was so sad to see it as it was once very vibrant.....

Although the Canal Basin itself doesn't have much going on, it is the start of a lovely walk that takes you through many insights into Coventry's industrial heritage. On a sunny day it is this is a great way to see the city from a...More

The hairdressers there are fab. The rest of the area is almost empty.. There is a trophy shop, a European shop, a cafe and thats about it. If the council put the energy into the area that they have put into Fargo village it would...More

I've just completed a narrow boat trip from Hawkesbury Junction to the Coventry Canal Basin. Please ignore the doom and gloom brigade. The canal is fine and not filled with shopping trolleys, bicycles or car tyres. It is generally very pleasant with a lot of...More

More needs to be done by Coventry city council to keep it cleaner as it would certainly be a lovely place to show the kids

From what I can find out this used to be a pub in the canal basin with live music but is now permanently close (googled information). I just went to the cafe at the 'amenities' end of the basin.
