So much history to this place (Birmingham) that I never would have known! A must see! Our guide Jeff was very friendly, informative and entertaining. I certainly walked out grateful for modern convinces haha

Fascinating stop at a National Trust museum experiencing ordinary working life from 1840 - 2000. Tour guided experience so reserve your spot before you show up. This is a completely unique experience, so worth your time.

A great little national trust place in the heart of the city centre. You do need to book a time for a tour so you can't just turn up which is something to bare in mind but they seem to be able to find slots for most people. Our tour group was small so we had a more personal experience... More

Very interesting to see this unique site, the guided tour was very amusing. Also a chance to buy old fashioned sweets.

We had wanted to visit this attraction for sometime and when we were finally able to visit we were not disappointed. Our guide, think her name was Annette, brought the visit to life. She had so much knowledge and the whole tour was absolutely fascinating. Unfortunately, due to parking we had to rush off without thanking her properly, so thank... More

Great place to visit for a couple of hours when in Brum. It was really interesting to see how our earlier generations lived and how hard it must have been. Our guide Jenny was very informative and certainly made our trip, funny too at times. I hope lots of school kids visit so they appreciate what they have today, carpets,... More

Right in the centre of town and easily overlooked. Interesting and informative insight into Birminghams history. You see three back to back houses and a couple of shops. The houses furnished in three different ages. Our guide was excellent. Informative and unassuming with a good knowledge of the social and political history of Birmingham and the context in which the... More

A visit brought back memories of what life was like even in the fifties and sixties. Well worth the time spent at what is really a living museum. The linked tailor's exhibit is also fascinating.
