We decided to take this canal boat ride after we had to change our originally scheduled plans for Birmingham. The ride was relaxing. As others have said, the most interesting buildings could be viewed by walking along the canal. When the boat turns away from...More

This was a friends leaving party there were 8 of us. He had booked it for more but had been let down. So we ended up paying £35 for a trip to see some brick walls and derelict graffiti factories. The food was placed on...More

I think some of the reviews here are very harsh. You're in Birmingham town centre and some people seem to expect to see somewhere else. I found the commentary interesting and learnt things I didn't know about Birmingham. As for it going one way and...More

Had read some mixed reviews of canal trips in Birmingham but the canal area was so gorgeous we went for it. It was a lovely trip. Not huge amounts to see so low on the water but generally an interesting and relaxing hour on the...More

My wife and I boarded the narrowboat at approx 11.45am for a 12.00pm cruise along the canal way towards Birmingham University. This was a delightful and inexpensive hour long cruise with three of the nicest folk/crew that Birmingham could offer. The skipper wore a confederate...More

We discovered the Brindley Place area on our week long visit to Birmingham.....it is one of the most pleasant areas to visit and spend time at, and to dine as well. We took this canal cruise from this area and enjoyed it. It was quite...More

Save your money. Walk 400 yards towards Edgbaston and turn Back. Nothing to see apart from litter and graffiti. 30 minutes out then turn around 30 minutes return and the same stretch.

As others have mentioned you would be better off walking the 2 mile out and back route. Awful pre recorded commentary on a litter infested view of train lines and weeds. Total waste of £8 per adult.

There are some fairly harsh comments on here about this trip, some I would agree with but some I think reflect someone having a bad day. We enjoyed the trip and found it interesting and a value for money way of learing about the canals,...More
