Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Centenary Square is located in the heart of Birmingham and is a short walk from the shopping area and Birmingham New Street. Midland Metro trams run to Centenary Square on their way to Five Ways and Edgebaston. There are also buses serving the square.
The library of Birmingham is here as well as the Symphony Hall and the conference centre. There are a number of different statues in the square to check out as well.

A smart, lovely square with impressive architecture connecting the Symphony Hall, Birmingham Rep and the soon to be opened new Library of Birmingham. Just off Broad Street, it links the main shopping areas and is a mass of flowers in the spring and summer.

Centenary Square and Chamberlain Square make for a wonderful sidetrack from just seeing the obvious sights of Birmingham and is easily accessible from different areas of the city centre

Currently covered in scaffolding and builders. I'm sure it'll be lovely when it's finished. Surrounded by the ICC and library, easy to locate from the cranes!

New Years Eve Fireworks
Good points:
Plenty of standing room, not overly squashed
Plenty of hotels and restaurants nearby
Bad points:
Unlike Manchester NYE fireworks, no DJ, music or midnight countdown was provided by the organisers. Therefore it did not have the traditional feeling of a NYE celebration, come on Birmingham provide these things to ensure the visitors who turn up have an amazing experience.

I don't drive but wanted a day out where I could take a picnic and watch the world go by - you wont find anywhere better or easier to get to than Centenary Square. You are surrounded by beautiful flowers, magnificent buildings, stunning statues and of course the nearly completed WEDDING CAKE (my name for the amazing new Birmingham Library). You can pick your bench, eat your picnic and watch the world go by and you simply have to POP ON A BUS OR TRAIN and you are there in the blinking of an eye, simply the top of New Street, past the Museum (fabulous place), through the thoroughfare and it opens up before you. NOT TO BE MISSED especially in the summer.

The square is on the route from Victoria Square and the main shopping to the canals and Sea life centre of Birmingham. It is really busy and last time we walked through they were still building the new library so there was a big chunk of the square that was fenced off for the construction work.

On new years eve, do you pay for the ice skating, fireworks and the big wheel? Or is there an entry fee so you don't pay inside?
Many thanks.
