Came here on the family fun day. Wasn't expecting much but got lots for the price. My son had a great day. Places to feed and change baby. Easy to park at and will definitely be returning.

We have just spent a really lovely afternoon at the Gardens. After reading some of the poor reviews I wasn't expecting a Chelsea Flower Show but I was pleasantly surprised. I took our 2 children (9 & 6) as it was a family day with...More

We came to the family fun day but had a wonder around the gardens - there really wasn't much to see (no colourful flowers or displays!) it was very green and overgrown. There is lots of potential here and think it is in need of...More

This is a beautiful walled garden and for anyone who appreciates walled gardens and historic houses it is still worth a visit. The garden needs an awful lot of work but what they have done is nice. I was hoping for more plants etc but...More

Visited here today with two friends and we were very disappointed. Everywhere was drab, colourless, overgrown and weed strewn. I accept that some gardens are better at different times of the year but after all this is high summer and there should at least be...More

If you are expecting a perfectly manicured garden you will be disappointed. It is obvious that more volunteers are needed to tend to the hedges and borders and the facilities are in a sad state. However the gardens have a certain neglected charm and in...More

Thank you .... I like the term 'neglected charm'. You are right we are always offering more opportunities for volunteers. Gardens are always seasonal, and we know that at other times, you will find the gardens very clipped and spruced up... :-)

Went on Friday under 2 for 1 garden scheme. Really disappointed considering previous reviews that the gardens have received. This garden needs a lot of tlc. Most of the beds were full of weeds and no guided tour at the time. The lay out of...More
