    Must visit if with children
A must see site especially if you have children. There is so much to see, War of the Roses, archery, birds of prey, etc. And, the castle tour itself is super. Avoid climbing the long walls and towers if you have issues with closed in places.

Zero customer service skills from security
Attended Gwen Stefani concert last night, first visit to an open air concert it was such a lovely setting and the artist was fantastic. Towards the end of the evening a fight broke out just in front of us so instead of letting it escalate and spill over into my personal space as security just stood watching, I spoke to one of the parties involved to calm the situation. My husband complained to security advising we'd stopped a fight (the one they stood watching) security's sarcastic remark was "oh well done". This was from security on the barrier of the Gold circle, stage right. Feeling this reply was totally unacceptable, on the way out of the ground I saw another member of staff and I asked "are you response?" His reply was "yes I am some kind of person" so yet another sarcastic comment. There wasn't much security around during the event, anything could have happened and it would have been too late. Compact Security need some customer service skills. Venue fantastic, artist fantastic, security appalling.

A cackling dark jester made it so much fun
Had a great time at Warwick Castle, we were staying in the Peacock Suite in the castle so had access to Castle for 3 days, lots to do and see. Absolutely loved the falconry display down by the river, we saw it twice with different shows, the trebuchet show was ok, but didnt thrill me like the falcolnry. Walking around the ramparts and up the towers was great some fantastic views, thoroughly enjoyed the Time Tower with the moving heads in the pictures, which shows what could be done with the Kingmaker exhibition, which is looking a bit jaded and outdated, it needs hologram faces talking to you and just needs jazzing up, I was a bit disappointed with this, we are big fans of the War of the Roses period and this was a bit of a let down. Another highlight of the Castle was the Dungeon, we were lucky that our black clad jester was superb, he cacled maniacally at us, screaming at us about our "talkie boxes" (thats your phone for anyone who is puzzled), and just generally being scarily entertaining. I enjoyed walks down by the river, the Avon is gorgeous and the Mill House with its electrical equipment is very interesting (I know i'm an electrical/engineering nerd I can't help it). Staff we spoke to were helpful and pleasant and the grounds are very well kept, and we look forward to returning
Thankyou for the wonderful review ! We are glad you were able to have a lovely experience at Warwick castle and that you enjoyed all our views. Our Falconers show is our most prized show, so its lovely to hear you enjoyed as much as we do. Thankyou for the feedback, about the Legend of The Trebuchet show. Thankyou for all the positive comments, regarding our towers and ramparts. I will pass on your feedback about the kingmaker to the department and see what we can implement to make it a more enjoyable experience. I will pass on the amazing feedback about the Jester and the general dungeon experience to the Castle dungeon team. Hope too see you soon!

    A nice family day out
We recently visited Warwick Castle with our twin 3 year old boys and 2 year old daughter. We were looking forward to taking them due to the Zog events that are currently taking place & they had such an amazing time. The Zog life show is fantastic and it was lovely to see all the children enjoying the show so much. We also took the chance to meet Zog and again the babies were thrilled. We also managed to take in some of the other shows that we’re running and they were brilliant. The actors deserve a huge pat on the back for the effort they put in to entertaining everyone and they play such a huge part in making the day more fun. The War of the Roses show is really good, my son particularly liked this one. Unfortunately we weren’t able to go into the castle itself as it wasn’t something our young children would have enjoyed but we will return and visit the castle next time. We also didn’t get chance to take part in the Horrible History maze as they don’t allow buggies in the maze which is fine but the children were very tired at this point so we decided against it. The only slight disappointment I have is the Zog Playground. It is very interesting but I found the children lost interest very quickly and we were probably only on the playground for ten minutes. I do feel that the prices for entry to the park are on the more expensive side and I feel that paying the same price for a 3 year old as you do for an adult is a little bit much but it certainly didn’t stop us from enjoying the day. Overall it really was a thoroughly enjoyable day and the family will definitely go back again soon. Finally a big shout out again to the historical actors, they played the roles really well and were fantastic at engaging with all the children!

Fab day out, lots to see and explore
We visited as a couple during the midsummer carnival event, there was lots on and loads to see and do. The War of the Roses live performance of jousting was great, loved by all those who watched. The actors were great and really got into their roles, and engaging the crowds, even in the pouring rain! We saw a demonstration of the trebuchet, sadly we missed the falconers quest, there was so much to do we ran out of time even though there from opening until closing! We paid extra to experience the interactive dungeons experience, great fun. Fab day out for everyone!
Thankyou so much for your amazingly kind words! We are glad you enjoyed our shows as much as we do and its wonderful to hear that you found all our actors great. At the Castle we aim to make all guest experiences run smoothly and lovely and I am glad you were able to have this ! Hope to see you soon ! Warwick castle

    Worth a visit
We visited Warwick Castle recently and had a great day! We wanted to visit before the Zog show ended in September as our 3 children love Zog. The live show was brilliant and our little ones loved it. We also took the chance to meet Zog, the area to meet Zog is a little out of the way and not that well signposted. We stood by the entrance and just hoped we were in the right place, thankfully we were! We also watched a couple of other of the shows and these were also brilliant! The actors did a really good job even in the bit of rain that we had. We didn't have chance to go inside the castle this time, purely because our children are a little bit young to appreciate it just yet! But we have already made plans to return to visit the castle. There are also little activities and shows in the courtyard. We took a little visit to the Zog playground which has a lovely design. However, a few areas have motion sensored sounds when you approach. These frightened the life out of my children and they were a little traumatised, we swiftly left shortly after as they were reluctant to go on other things. So, easily spooked children beware! As with all Merlin attractions there's a parking charge. I always think its a bit cheeky to charge for parking when the attraction cost is quite pricey! Again we visited the gift shop which was quite pricey but you end up giving in so your little ones can have a little memento of the day! Warwick Castle is a great day out with something for all the family. Its a little on the pricey side so be prepared for that but there's plenty to do and is definitely a day out worth doing!

    Amazing historic castle
Came here as part of a coach trip and I was amazed with the history this castle contains! There is plenty to do for everyone here, regardless of age. shows, tours, shops, and plenty of information for those with an interest in history. My only complaint was that I never had enough time to take everything in or enjoy any shows as I was limited for time. To fully explore and see everything this castle has to offer would take a full day.

    Eye watering entry cost
The first thing to remember is that it is mainly based around children, so adults may find it a bit underwhelming. Everything about the visit is expensive, the quite frankly extortionate entry price of £156.00 for 4 adults, that does not gain entry to all areas of the castle is not a good start. The food, coffee, souvenirs, cold drinks, additional visit costs, in fact everything is designed to do nothing more than extract as much cash from you as possible. As an example, should your children wish to try archery, there is an additional £6.00 cost per child for a few arrows. Yes it's a stunning location full of history, yes there is plenty to do, yes the shows are good, yes it is excellent for children. The Falconers Quest I must say is a superb show. Come on Merlin group, at a time where families are struggling through a cost of living crisis, cut people a bit of slack. You are pricing yourself out of many peoples budgets. Worth a visit, but be prepared to have very deep pockets.

Absolutely amazing. Great entertainment for the whole family. We took a picnic and after the jousting ate it at the river bank to watch the shows. The jousting was by far the best we've seen, and they really engage you, taking sides for the war of the Roses! Great castle, lots to do and see, we've now visited several times. Best place to park is actually down the road, by a large park, as its only a few minutes walk up hill, cheaper and no issues getting a space. A really great day, from the birds of prey to the peacocks in the gardens!
Thankyou for such a fantastic review. We are so glad you enjoyed our Wars of the Roses show that we are exceptionally proud to host at the Castle. As we proudly host the UK's biggest Birds of Prey show, we are very pleased to hear that you share the same appreciation for our fascinating birds. Our own specially trained Falconer works incredibly hard with our birds to achieve such an impressive show, and to receive such positive feedback is very rewarding.

    Amazing entertainment
I absolutely adore this castle and the staff are absolutely amazing, nothing is too much trouble. This visit, we did the dungeon tour, quite a few jump scares, keeps you on your toes and well worth the extra money to do, we were presented with a photo album with all the professional photos took off us that day, with the extras for keyrings and fridge magnets, was £20, but it was presented well and again a lovely keepsake if you have the extra money. Love the falconers quest, peacock gardens, legend of the trebuchet, horrible histories theatre, didn't do the war of the roses on this visit as there was only performance that day and couldn't catch the later show but have done on previous visits and it is great entertainment. The price of entry, in my opinion, is great value for money during peak time for the amount of entertainment put on by the hard working staff is definitely worth it. If you plan your day well, you can hit all the entertainment as nothing overlaps. Sure food prices are a little pricey but you can take a picnic in and there are plenty of places to eat as the grounds are so beautiful and plenty of places to recycle your waste too. Already planning a repeat visit soon as I can't stay away for long.
Hello, Hayley thankyou for your wonderful comments. We truly value them! We are so glad you had a lovely, but scary castle dungeon experience. I will pass this on to the team. Thankyou for all the positive comments, regarding our shows and our site. We are proud to offer such shows, along side with the beautiful views and grounds the castle offers. Thankyou for the positive words about our staff, we really appreciate it. Hope too see you soon! Warwick castle

This was a beautiful castle full of history, activities and beautiful architecture!
Lots of activities aimed at kids, and also plenty to see for adults interested in history. Some very good visuals bring history to life! the Kingmaker is really well done and super interesting. the dungeons experience was fantastic, the actors were brilliant, that was the best part for my party. The insults in the court scene were so funny. Amazing experience for the family! It’s worth the money. You can spend all day there. So much to see and many attractions. Something for everybody.

One star, and grudgingly given at that.
To begin with, car parking for the disabled is shambolic, having to compete with a succession of huge tour buses where the facilities for these buses are completely inadequate. There is no one way system, buses have to get to the castle entrance, offload their passengers, and then turn around using a completely unsuitable turning area, then fight their way back down the narrow entrance road, in opposition to the buses coming up the road to unload. Which genius thought up this arrangement ?
The disabled parking bays lead off this narrow access road. They are too narrow, and too short for most cars, meaning that you of necessity have to unload a mobility scooter into the path of the buses, ideal when physically challenged, and slow.
Once this has been completed, there is no indication at all in which direction the castle entrance lies. Signage is not inadequate, but non existent.
Having finally gained access to the castle, you realise that it is NOT a historic site any more, but simply a theme park, designed to separate you from as much of your money as possible. Entrance prices are extortionate, and
refreshments - - - at least Dick Turpin had the decency to wear a mask!
If you were after discovering the history of the castle from its very early build, by Alfred the Great’s daughter, as a defence against Danish raiders and on via William 1st building as a motte and Bailey (wooden) castle, etc; then forget any of that idea. There’s a great hall with some armour, and a few rooms dedicated to Victorian extravagance and debauchery, but nothing about the true history and use of the castle. You need Wikipedia for this! Notably, the staff on site don’t know when the castle was built, nor by whom!
There are archery ranges £6.00 a go, and innumerable stalls attempting to sell you two bits of wood glued together for £15 (a broad sword) etc. Lots of standard fast food stalls (all shut) and similar.
Forget the jousting arena, too busy, come back later!
Perhaps a fun day out for a family with children 8 years old and older, but as a historical interest day out, you’d be better off studying a book at home, and not paying the considerable entry fee and car park price.
The fact that the castle is owned by Merlin Entertainments should explain exactly what it’s about to anyone who cares to think about it for a moment. This fact must be on the web site somewhere, but it is obviously well hidden.
Save your money and look elsewhere.

Castle in good shape. Furnished with period furnishing and weapons. Programs demonstrating the trebuchet, war of the roses and birds of prey.. Loved the jousting during the War of the Roses. Loved the Birds of Prey show. Lots of food trucks as well as a tea room at the castle.

We’ve been once a year for the last four years but this years visit felt a bit flat
There are now no 2for1 tickets on Kellogg’s etc so it has turned into an expensive day out. We paid £29 each with bluelight
However because we’ve been before everything we did we had done before. As always the bird show was incredible, war of the roses great and the zog show was fun. But there was absolutely nothing new!
Nothing in the castle courtyard, no knights fighting, no jester that we’ve had in previous visits
For this reason we only spent 4 hours here which was an expensive visit and of course they charge you for the privilege to park!
If it’s your first visit you will love it but we will think again for next year as £90 so much for a repeated visit

Since my last visit a good few years ago a lot has changed at Warwick Castle and I would say for the better.

The castle is a standard castle and has some nice rooms and things to see within it but where they excel is the extra entertainment.

During the Summer you get 4 different shows around the river. War of the Roses is probably the biggest and most engaging event of them but others also excelled. The way they do the flying displays as the Falconer’s Quest works very well and the variety of birds that they are flying is impressive.

For the younger kids there is also now the addition of Zog around the place with a playground, trail and show which my son loved and is a great addition to the entertainment provided.

For the older children there is also the Horrible Histories maze which we didn’t visit but looked popular as well.

On this occasion we brought our own food but prices looked to be the same as most other theme park/entertainment places

If you are in the area it’s definitely worth a visit

This was a beautiful castle full of history, activities and beautiful architecture! Absolutely fanatastic time! Beware of some of the steep stairs going up to the barbican and other such towers; worth it but will be difficult for those with mobility difficulties

Wonderful place for a day out. Lots of activities aimed at kids, but also plenty to see for adults interested in history. Some very good visuals bringing history to life!
The only issue we had was that we had planned to park our car at the Stratford Road Car Park, but for some reason were directed towards the Field Car Park, which is quite a significant walk (around 15 mins. at a good pace) away from the Castle entrance. On our walk we came by the Stratford Road Car Park and noticed that it was far from full, so that cannot have been the reason that we were directed to the other one. While I do not mind walking, for a car park so far away from the attraction, I'm not so sure, though, whether it's fair to charge for it, given that admission to the castle is £29.50, which is by no means cheap!

What a fantastic day out. For two history buffs, this had everything! So many parts of the castle and periods of history to explore, the Kingmaker is really well done and super interesting, the dungeons experience was fantastic, the actors were brilliant and the War of the Roses show was just phenomenal! We are coming back for the Hans Zimmer John Williams concert.

Absolutely fabulous experience. Stayed night in Rose Room in Caesar's Tower. We were treated like Royalty, with our own Concierge
Elle and Jordan were very knowledgeable. Imogene did the castle tour and was so interesting to listen too.
The High Tea in the conservatory was amazing. Well presented and very tasty.
Would love to visit again and highly recommend anyone who wants a five star experience - then this is the place.
