The Attic Theatre is the No.1 fringe theatre in Stratford upon Avon and home to award-winning 'Tread the Boards' Theatre Company. In 2016 we begin the year with Romeo & Juliet, the only Shakespearean play being performed in Stratford during the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death. First established in 2009 by Tread the Boards, an award winning theatre Company. This unique, riverside theatre is located in the heart of Shakespeares' birth town. This unique space is housed in a Grade 2 listed 15th century building and seats just 89 people. This makes for a very personal and intimate theatrical experience.

In Stratford-upon-Avon there is no shortage of Shakespeare. You'd not be surprised to see a wonderful Henry V here. But last night's performance was not at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. It was at a tiny theatre a stone's throw away. Tread the Boards' production shows you don't need a massive budget, you just need heart and a dedication to the... More

We've been on a short visit to Stratford and were lucky enough to notice that this play was on. A fantastic evening - all of the actors were superb and being so close meant we really felt the emotions as well as hearing the words! So pleased to have had the chance to see this.

Walked past and saw they had Henry V on that evening. Paid £15 each per ticket and watched a great production done by a solid and enthusiastic acting team. Will go back if we return to Stratford.

We went to see Henry V yesterday and loved it. All the actors should be proud of their fine performances, making every inch of space in this intimate theatre count. As Stratford locals, we've focused on the RSC, but TTB gives them a run for their money with this production! Some very moving scenes interspersed with humour and a heroic... More

Not only is this a brilliant production with memorable performances from many of the talented cast, it also gives you a real sense of what Shakespeare's language is meant to do. It paints the pictures for your imagination without distracting special effects and scenery. More enjoyable than several productions I've seen at their more famous neighbours, you are up close... Went to see Henry V last night and it was brilliant. It's a small intimate space with the actors literally a foot away from you. The acting was first class . What a gem !

Another superb production at the Attic Theatre. The pace never let up. The battle scenes were particularly impressive.

Lose yourself for an evening in the brilliance of this acting group. The theatre presents an intimate setting, so you feel the energy of every scene. Take a break at intermission for a glass of wine or ale at the nearby bar, and bring it back with you. Scenery changes are choreographed as a dance routine, and the show moves... More
