Overview
More
The Attic Theatre is the No.1 fringe theatre in Stratford upon Avon and home to award-winning 'Tread the Boards' Theatre Company. In 2016 we begin the year with Romeo & Juliet, the only Shakespearean play being performed in Stratford during the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death. First established in 2009 by Tread the Boards, an award winning theatre Company. This unique, riverside theatre is located in the heart of Shakespeares' birth town. This unique space is housed in a Grade 2 listed 15th century building and seats just 89 people. This makes for a very personal and intimate theatrical experience.

I could write reams about this small, but perfectly formed, theatre space and the innovative Tread the Boards Company, that does indeed Tread its Boards, but it would be simpler, and far more enjoyable if everyone just visited and saw for themselves. Then you'd agree...More

We saw a midsummer nights dream and whilst not being a huge fan of classical theatre, I thoroughly enjoyed this. It was great to be feet away from the performers and the play itself had me laughing out loud.

Saw A Midsummer Night's Dream at The Attic today and was blown away! At 15 quid a ticket on Shakespeare's birthday weekend, I wasn't expecting much, but the the whole cast and production were amazing. By the end, I was crying with laughter! Highly recommend...More

We saw two tremendous performances by Tread the Boards Theatre Company at the The Attic Theatre over the past few days - Richard III and A Midsummer Night's Dream. John Partridge gives RIII some welly indeed, supported by an admirable cast. MND is hilariously funny,...More

Went to see Richard III at The Attic Theatre yesterday, what a wonderfully faithful performance of one of Shakespeare’s most famous histories. No gimmicks, no fantastical sets or people flying around on strings, this production brought its audience back to what the heart of Shakespeare...More

Intimate setting, unsettling and quite disturbing portrayal of the toadlike king. A production that was authentic and gripping from the very beginning. The entire cast were incredible. This production proves that Shakespeare done properly needs no gimmicks, just great acting. Shame it is finishing today...More

With such limited resources Tread the Boards company has proved yet again that all you need is talent, respect for the text and lots of hard work and you have an amazing production on your hands. This was an amazing feat for a small but...More

Hi Shaun, we are running two plays side by side at the moment so on Saturday 16th at 2:30 pm we have Bronte and at 7:30 pm we have Wuthering Heights. Hope one, or both of these appeals to you/your group.
