It's so lovely to take a walk along the canal in Stratford...... it's just wonderful on a sunny day. It's a busy place for tourists though, so don't leave too late to arrive for parking.

We stayed in a hotel located next to the canal - unfortunately, we didn't manage to get a room with this view but we did spend some time outside watching some boats negotiating the locks. We also walked around the turning space near the theatre...More

As I walked along this winding canal, I saw many things that were picturesque. White swans, boats, locks, pathways, flowers, birds, budding trees and historic homes and gardens. No visit to this wonderful city should be taken without visiting this canal and walkway.

We are not from Stratford but we do visit a lot. We enjoy walking by the canal on sunny days. Stratford is since a nice touristy place.

With all the Shakespeare about and the Hathaway history we tend to forget Stratford importance in the early industrial era of UK. As a hub of navigation the town has basins now full of pleasure craft, super tree lined waterways and populations of bird and...More

We stayed at Wilmcote and decided to walk to Stratford. The wind was chilling - the snow was blowing across the canal but we loved it. Walking from Wilmcote we passed plenty of canal locks, a few barges and a nice selection of wildlife. I...More

We visited yesterday and the canal is still frozen in places. This made it even more beautiful than usual with lots of birds walking over the ice. Then lots of crocus too! Always a lovely spot to have a walk around or a trip up...More
