At the Tyneside Cinema, we give a trip to the pictures the sense of occasion it deserves. We show the best films in stylish and beautiful surroundings, and our varied programme ranges from brilliant films from all over the world to the best Hollywood has to offer. As the last surviving Newsreel theatre still operating as a cinema full-time in the UK, our Grade II-listed building is an important, must-see piece of heritage, not just regionally, but nationally too and it has been lovingly restored to preserve and celebrate the grandeur of its original 1937 art deco design.

My husband and I have been friends of the Tyneside for several years and we love it! Each cinema has its own unique style, all the seats are comfortable and you never have a problem seeing the screen (important to me being only 5' 1")....More

It's possible to visit this cinema in the day as they do tours at 11am some mornings. They screen old news reels at 11.15 and you can see all the different film spaces in the building. There is a lovely old cafe upstairs and a...More

A brilliant package founded by the directors - incidentally, the cinema was founded...More

Went here with my boyfriend to try a different venue as we always go to a different cinema. I would definitely recommend it as you can even enjoy a alcoholic drink while you watch the movie 🍾🍺

A beautiful old fashioned/vintage cinema. Comfortable seats and gorgeous atmosphere. We went to see Its A Wonderful Life at Christmas and it felt magical seeing it in such a beautiful setting. Excellent food in the restaurant too. Worth a stop before or after a film...More
