Plenty of things to see and do for kids. Interesting exhibition on working life in Newcastle but not quite what we were looking for. We were hoping for more about the mining community but Beamish Museum near Durham is better for that

Vast array of exhibits covering lots of subjects history science etc. It has a room with the history of the Tyne with the story of ship building . Great for all the family

We returned recently to see Stephenson's "Rocket". This place never ceases to fascinate. It's great for kids with lots of hands-on science, plenty of real history and of course the actual ground-breaking "Turbinia". If you visit Newcastle, don't miss it.

Took my 7 year old grandson, who loved the whole experience. Plenty to see and do. He loved the activities and we all learnt a lot. Only downside was the mediocre overpriced food in the cafe.
