Enjoyed the holy communion and morning service here as I was the only one with the priest and quite a holy building indeed.

Always call in and light a candle. The carvings are amazing and this place is well worth a visit. Had a snack in the cafe and the food was cheap but excellent. Toasties and jackets and lovely scones.

I was there with a group providing a choir for services over a weekend. All the staff and volunteers we met were very friendly and helpful. The cathedral was warm - which is most unusual!

I was in and out of Newcastle Cathedral in no time. The place is gloomy and depressing. Steer clear and go to see Durham Cathedral instead which is wonderful.

One of the few heritage buildings and quite the best. It is not large as befitting a parish church but it is beautifully decorated and has one of the best/most bizarre Jacobean monuments I've see. The staff are very helpful too.

Many thanks for your review and I'm pleased you liked our lovely building. It was originally the Parish Church of St Nicholas and became the city's Cathedral in 1882. There are so many amazing monuments and memorials inside, too, which really show off the varied history of the city. We hope you visit us again! More

St Nick's is not one of the country's biggest cathedrals, but it is one of its most beautiful. An oasis of calm right in the heart of this busy city. Beautifully maintained, lovely architecture and a fantastic choir help make this one of the city's most prayerful, peaceful and welcoming places to visit either for five minutes or five hours.... Hello there. Many thanks for your review and we're glad you loved our building. We love it too! We do work hard to maintain it to a high standard, which can often be challenging given its age. However, it's such a gorgeous peaceful space so we hope more and more people will come and discover its charms. More

We visited this cathedral on Friday and had the luck to attend an organ recital (it seems that every Friday is a Lunchtime recital at 13:05). It really liked that old place and the beautiful music here.

Hi there. Thanks for your review and we're glad you loved our organ recital. We have lunchtime recitals every Friday during term-time - sometimes an organist, sometimes other solo instrumentalists or even a visiting choir. Full details on our website. More
