This is a mixed wood forest which is very suitable for all walkers. There are adequate paths through the woods and it would be difficult to get lost, despite its size. There is convenient roadside parking. It is main dry underfoot even in the winter....More

One of the many forests around Thetford, the site may be ancient but the planting is post war Forestry Commision, and the trees mostly firs for commercial logging. There are regular walks or rides (horses permitted) through miles of woods. Just avoid the well labelled...More

Visited this place after a bit of research on Trip Advisor looking for good dog walks. This venue is great. I'm sure there is a lot more to explore, but we found the car park and only saw directions for a relatively short 2.5 mile...More

Only managed a short walk (as it was next to our caravan site) but enjoyable never the less) - early evening so a few dog walkers but fairly quiet, paths and trails not marked up so pay attention or bring a map.

Such a beautiful area spoilt by plastic bags full of dogs mess and dogs mess littered along the paths. Couldn’t let the children run free due to this and also all the dogs we encountered were running free off of their leads! A real shame.

The Kings Forest is good for a wander but make sure you get your bearings right. I have made wrong turns when I first started walking here and it turns a long walk into a LONGER walk.

In the course of a week in the Bury St Edmunds area, we enjoyed our initial visit to the Forest so much that we came back a few days later. This is prime dog-walking territory, with a varied woodland landscape where there is always something...More
