Lovely place to visit. I live 10 minutes away and visit on a regular basis. At least once a month. Beautiful countryside and great for walking and photography. There's also a lovely restaurant called the Rambler's Retreat, which offers great food and a lovely atmosphere. Only thing I'll say is the carpark gets quite busy, so it's sometimes difficult to... Countryside walks at their best, great for walking the dog or the kids, with the Ramblers retreat close by for a snack or full lunch

We have visited, walked and explored for nearly 50 years. The place of family, happy memories, peace, nature and exercise. Now our grandchildren are sharing in its delights too. It has been lovely to see derelict buildings bought to life and the ramblers retreat offers great food and R&R.

Been taking the dogs here for years, even been up cycling on the old railway line. It is a lovely and tranquil area, with relaxing birdsong in you ears as the dog wades in and out of the river.

This is a lovely place to visit to walk. We sometimes park at Oakamoor and walk along the old railway track to Dimmingsdale. There are several walks in the woods etc and is so peaceful. There are so many birds around. The Rambers Retreat is a lovely place for refreshments also.

We live just around the corner from this beautiful place and we really enjoy walking around this area. With different options and levels of difficulty, all in all a lovely family walk. We have recently had a puppy and cant wait to return with our little Bobby..

There are many walks in this area. For the beginners park at The Ramblers parking straight over the rail bridge opposite and right along the railway. Take in the River Churnet, the old Cauldon Canal, and the railway and its old station stop for Alton Towers. Don't miss the monastory on the hillside towards Alton Village. Now take either Red... Lovely walks to chose from. an absolute gem to get away from the city and get some fresh air. Love walking my dogs here and the restaurant is so quaint and good value too.
