Imposing monument on top of a hill, but not much of it left. Great views of the surrounding countryside and of Stafford itself. One can even see the Wrekin in the distance.

If the title isn't too contradictory then it perhaps best sums up Stafford Castle. A walk up the hill to the ruins is worth the effort, for there are some fabulous remains, along with fantastic views, and a great story is told here.

Useful visitor centre bringing what is essentially an old ruin back to life with their information boards. People with mobility issues please note it is a steep walk up the hill to the ruins itself
