Called in as we were walking past, my other half doesn't have anything like this in her home country so was very interested in the cells, worth a visit if you are in the area

It was a worth visit. The history is well-explained by the staff and they offer prompts to be used. Really interesting place.

Having done some research of the area, this was another of the free museums in the town I wanted to visit, it was closed - so somewhat disappointed! Set in a pleasant building in the centre of town, do check opening times if you wish to visit.

Although small, crammed with historic information. Guide available on duty who is extremely well informed on Lichfield's history.

We dropped in to the Guildhall whilst visiting the Lichfield Food Festival and were invited in to the cells, which until that day we didn't even realise existed here. Although it is small, it is very interesting to see the conditions and the reasons for imprisonment, and you get to pretend to be a Town Crier.

We noticed a sign offering a free visit to the cells while we were attending the food festival. There is not that much to see and a visit will only take you 20 minutes or so but what there is is very informative and interesting. The entrance has facts about the cells and some interesting history on Lichfield and the... More

Luckily we were here on a Satuday morning when this attraction was open. Interesting stories about th prison cells. But e we're also able to go upstairs and see the impressive hall above with its fine stained glass window.

I've been attending the UK Pen Show at the Guildhall for around 7 years now without realizing the ancient jails are in the lower level. Very well presented and cared for attraction, with curator who cares deeply about his city and history
