This was one of those places that you could so easily put on your list to maybe see later or put off to another day, but dont! This was the real surprise of out trip to Bath, and great 90 minutes or so and a real eye opener as to how the Masons really operate and why. The tour guide... More

This Museum can only be seen with a guide – our guide was just a fountain of knowledge and was amazing. He told the history of the place when it was the Theatre Royal in Bath. There isn’t much evidence of its theatrical past now as the Bath Masonic Lodge now own and occupy the building. Our guide was a... More

This is a hidden gem for those interested in history and the masons in Bath. Our tour guide gave an excellent tour and was very imformative about the old theatre and masonic hall.

My husband and I spent an excellent 1.5 hours here. The guide was fantastically knowledgeable about the old theatre and the history of freemasonry. There are not many tours each week and to maintain the costs of the building it is used as a venue for festivals in Bath so you may need to plan your visit. Well worth planning... More

What a wonderful afternoon we had at this special place. For a Freemason, it is unbelievable, with history dating back to 1732. Roger, our guide, explained all stages of the history of this beautiful theatre, which from outside, is plain and uninspiring. My wife was enthralled, particularly at what she learned further about Freemasonry.

I had an hour (actually 90mins) to kill before a meeting so I thought I'd check out this wonderful building. The curator really knows his history and is full of knowledge both Masonic and Regular. The building itself has a wonderful history having been a theatre / church and now a Freemasons Lodge. They really have a superb collection of... More

Surprising 3 phase history. Enthusiastic guide, a little difficult to hear at times. Undercroft Masonic Museum full of fascinating objects. Worth a visit.

I have lived in Bath for just over 20 years, and was surprised to find out that there is a Masonic Hall here. We rocked up, and made up a party of 3 people for a tour of the old theatre. It was fascinating. The facade gives nothing away, and the guide was well informed, if a bit unique in... More

Other reviewers have described this one hour tour pretty well. I'd try to sum it up as an idiosyncratic, well researched journey into connections between lives of the past, and the present, through the medium of one C.18 building and its three distinct periods of existence. You'll get some exposure to the history of the Masonic Lodges, which may be... More

If you are looking or something away from the hub bub and like to learn and see differently, this is the tour for you, A brilliant insight into not only the history of Bath, but of theatre in general, with the added bonus of an insight into the masonic world and beliefs. £6 is a bargain and helps to keep...
