There I see a very interesting tie in with the current exhibition in Shrewsbury Museum on the stained glass and other work of Margaret Rope. The Cathedral is a lovely building which has very helpful and knowledgeable people to explain anything.

We arrived just as a wedding was finishing - we were about to move on and go elsewhere, but decided to give it a chance. Luckily, everyone had left - apart from the organist, who continued playing as we wandered round. Lost of internal memorials; fantastic stained glass windows and other items of interest. Even outside, the way that there... More

Been coming here for over twenty years - mainly to perform music. Loads of history. Love the stained glass windows. It is a satisfying building to play music in - good acoustics. Being there for a rehearsal recently - pre 9 am - it was lovely to almost have the building to myself. Once could imagine Brother Cadfael coming round... More

I do like this Abby, it's stained glass is worth seeing and the place is very easy to access with parking available in close by places. It is a shame it is situated on a rather main road though.

Lots of history and photographs of previous floods. A gentlemen came up to us and gave us some history that wasn't on our guide which was interesting. Went to the Lady's Chapel and sat which was lovely and then stayed for Evensong which was very nice. Take time to look up at the architecture and the beautiful windows. No admission... More

Historically interesting and possible to easily see the different aged parts of the building. Friendly helpful and knowledgeable volunteers on hand to give info and answer questions. Please make a donation if you visit to help preserve the abbey for the future.

The Bible tells us that "God doesn't live in a temple made with hands". Its been a long time since I was in such a "dull" place. but this isn't (any longer at least) a place where I would want to Worship/Praise the Living God. If you are one for church history, with all its "relics" then you may well... More

The Abbey is well worth a visit. Tons of history & a stunning building, much of which has been relocated from across the road. The Abbey needs funds for various projects & judging by the clear explanations already provided, they will spend the money raised well. The pictures of the flooding back in the early 1900's open ones eyes to... More

once we had walked to the Abbey we were a bit disappointed to find it closed. Looked round the outside grounds and many an old headstone can be found. Lovely bars and cafes surrounding the abbey
