Good exhibits of the gorge and bridge with a model of the whole site and a film at the end. Paintings and exhibits show a history of everything that went on in the local area. Not far from the town, on the waters edge this...More

Externally, the architecture whets the appetite, with gothic towers and sunken railways. Internally, and the first thing that greets you is a huge diorama )model) of the whole gorge, or valley, with the steep wooded sides, industrial areas, Inclined Planes, factories, Severn Trows (boats that...More

What a great museum. Stunning model of the Gorge based on circa 1700. Great cinema show. BUT, it's NOT open on a Monday from October (as are all, bar the Toll house). What's worse, it doubles as the (unavailable) tourist information centre!

This was very interesting to see how much the river Severn floods in 1795 it's the highest recorded up to the top of the Windows. This also houses the tourist information office as well.

This is an excellent addition to the tour, even if to see the height the river has risen to over the years. Most impressive.
