Visited the gardens with my grandparents for a walk and lunch. Very pleasant walk on a nice day, although the gardens probably could have done with a bit more work on them (lots of dead heads). Food was nice but took ages (almost an hour) to arrive, especially as we only ordered sandwich. Also fairly high prices for what you... More

This place is well worth a visit if you are in Sheffield. This is a great place for a picnic. The beautiful gardens are worth seeing both in Summer and Winter. The hot houses are free to look around and are beautiful and packed with tropical plants. Make sure you bring your camera as there are lots of photo opportunities... More

Been to the botanical gardens looking for herd of Sheffield elephants then a walk around the gardens which has some lovely plants trees separate gardens to look at and relax in. On sight a good cafe and then out onto Eccleshall Road to enjoy the shops.

I have been visiting the botanical gardens for many years. Great for a picnic and a walk. See the bear pit, the flowers, Peter pans statue, the fountains, cafe and much more. They also host different events throughout the year.

Easliy accessible by public transport (no. 6 bus from the city centre every 30 mins) this garden is a haven of peace and beauty. They have a National Collection of Wigelas. The plants are set out in areas appropriate to their natural habit, and the gardens are compact enough to enable most visitors to walk round without feeling overwhlemed. There... More

The Botanical Gardens are walking distance for us and are a lovely place to visit. Particularly interesting at the moment because they have three of 'The Herd' of painted elephants which are all around Sheffield until the beginning of October, but the flowers are always lovely.

Wonderful green space in middle of Sheffield. Very interesting plants, trees and flowers to see. Different things to see in each season. Good coffee shop with outdoor seating. Great for picnics and relaxing with friends. Old bear pit to visit. Good for families. Lovely for wedding photos. Well worth a visit.

Not a big park but a great place for a picnic and a saunter, especially if you're using a wheelchair. There's a little café but it's always busy and service is known locally as being the slowest in the area. However it's a great place to have a coffee in Autumn or when the park is covered in snow. The... More
