Great park for a family walk. If you go you must find the bear pit, feed the squirrels, hunt out the amazing plants and then either go to the cafe or it's a short walk to Ecclesall Road where you have loads of choice for...More

My partner and I visited the Botanical Gardens because we still had time before we needed to check into the hotel and it was nice to stretch our legs after being sat in the car for almost 3 hours on our way to the city....More

Visited the Botanical Gardens a few weeks ago with my sister. Reminiscing when we were there forty years ago. The plants in the orangery were very interesting and the flowers in the borders of the gardens were beautiful in colour. It was a lovely warm...More

My favourite place at Sheffield. Very beautiful, ideal to make picnics and relax... there are a lot of squirrels! Cute!

Following a full English breakfast in a nearby hotel a stroll around the colourful and well tended botanical gardens was just what was in order. Lots of dedicated volunteers busying themselves.

Somewhere to have a little walk look at some beautiful plants and a bite to eat or just a drink . We went by bus. I didn't see free parking nearby. There is a little cafe serving good food.

Thoroughly enjoyed our little cycle around this park while doing a bit of Geocaching. Stopped off in the coffee shop for a nice hot chocolate and ice cream (even balance). Wish I had taken some monkey nuts for the very friendly squirrels. Would definitely return.

No, but parking is easy if you use the southern entrance on Thompson Road, just off Ecclesall Road. I think it costs us just 50p an hour. Usually spaces to be found although parking in that area is always tricky.

Yes, several of the 80-series buses, and lots of others, go that way. Ask for the 'Tesco' on Ecclesall Road. Get off the bus, cross over the road, and walk up the road to the left of 'Yankees'. You'll see the gates directly... More
