A wonderful history of Reading exploring the narrative of a great town (should be city) and everything that has placed it on the map.

Found this museum accidentally while in Reading, has a nice little walk through Readings history. Very informative little museum, with the Abbey ruins about a 5 minute walk away. Definitely a must see, especially if you're interesting in the battle of Hastings!

Visited the museum specifically to see the copy of the Bayeux Tapestry. Arrived at around 2:30pm on a weekday and was almost the only person there. The tapestry is displayed in a gallery on the first floor with good annotations and explanations of who made...More
