I have been to this pub many times over the years I worked in Reading and enjoy the garden, its location and old world charm. However, this all turned a bit sour during yesterday's visit. I asked whether they sold the mini Prosecco bottles- reply...More

They always have great Ales on here. Its the best pint of "Proper Job" that I've had outside Cornwall. If you pop your head in the door you will see its really small inside and may be tempted to go elsewhere. However, go through the...More

Dating back to the 1700s, this is one of Readings oldest public houses. Two very small, low ceiling bars make up the interior, but the real gem if this place is the rear garden, usable all year round. Good selection of local ales.

After dinner drink with an old school friend and it reminded me of yesteryear. I enjoyed the traditional setting, the crisps, the fact they sell Veuve Clicquot, the prices, the company and watching the huge variety of people drifting in and out.

Stopped here with a few friends for a few pints in the beer garden. The pub itself seems ok, the garden (patio) was large with plenty of space, however the beer was average. Not sure if they keep or serve much real ale, but the...More
