Had a quick walk around the Christmas market in Broad street and then felt a bit thirsty, all the tables seem full but it’s one of those pubs which seems endless and has a few nooks and crannies. Having smelled the food a drink wasn’t...More

It took an age for our order to arrive. Other diners who ordered after we did seemed to be served sooner. The place wasn’t busy. When it did arrive the server seemed uninterested to hear that my wife received items she hadn’t ordered - he...More

I asked the bar attendent for his advice and he recommended the fish and chips. He was right - it was very good. This is a reasonably-priced good pub in a great location. Service was good and friendly. The atmosphere was relaxed but civilised.

We went again to the Kings Arms. We booked and got a great table by the bar. They were very welcoming of our puppy dog. The food (sandwich, jacket potato, burger and side of chips) was unfaultable. Great service, great value for money, great range...More

We asked about sandwiches and were told they had run out of bread! And the toilets were smelly. Won't go again.

Like a throwback to the worst of British food from the past in the Kings Arms in 2017 you can still enjoy curled up sandwiches made with the cheapest sliced bread and a beetroot salad with LESS than 1 slice of beetroot in it. This...More

Absolutely - plenty of space & the staff make a real fuss of them. Dog water bowls & treats available from behind the bar when you order your drinks. Haven't come across a more dog friendly pub.
