Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Brilliant trip. Stayed in an Airbnb
(fantastic garden shed in East Oxford) about 25 mins walk from Botanical Gardens. Spent time wandering/ exploring this historic city. Enjoyed the free museums. Great walks around Christchurch grounds Botanical gardens and Magdalena college. Attended superb Vespers service and Even song, at two colleges well recommended just look for the invites outside the college entrances generally free to the public. Some super cafe's and independent shops. So glad we came.

This is for accommodation only.
Exeter College is one of the most beautiful and central colleges in Oxford. However, if you are invited to spend the night there - don't.
I am shocked that fee-paying students are being given rooms that are, if anoying, worse than those I epxerienced in another college 40 years ago. My rooms, though they had a tiny ensuite shower were freezing cold, poorly-lit, and wretchedly furnished. The single bed had a thin, lumpy mattress and a duvet that was so narrow it was impossible to sleep in any position other than as if on a tomb - and I had to wear a thermal vest, socks, and jumper on top of nightdress even then. The taps had only cold water.
The food is also disgusting - a lump of meat with boiled carrots and tagliatelle, followed by rice pudding topped by an Eccles cake.
The outside is nopthing like the inside.

The last time we attended a carol service. This time we visited in the day and had a sumptuous afternoon tea. Lovely service. Tasty food, every single piece in the set. We could walk to the Fellows Gardens and thereafter up some steps to get a fabulous view of the Radcliffe Observatory and surrounding colleges.
The Porter at reception was ever so friendly. Catering staff were professional and pleasant.

In the centre of the city tucked in between shops you can easily miss Exeter college, its more great architecture worth a view.

During a few days sightseeing in Oxford we fell in love with the place, the people and the buildings
We managed a free tour of EXETER College and we were really amazed
The gardens the buildings and the church or is it a cathedral
If visiting Oxford don’t miss a walk around EXETER

We had spent the day visiting various attractions around Oxford and doing a spot of shopping. By mid-afternoon, we had resumed our sight-seeing activities.
As we walked from Broad Street around into Turl Street, we came upon the Exeter College gatehouse. There was a sign posted at the gatehouse indicating that the college was open for free public visits during certain hours of the afternoon. Fortunately, we happened to be there at the time that the college was open and so we wandered in to take a look.
The college buildings with their centuries old architecture surrounding the central quadrangle are magnificent. The quadrangle itself features a very large well-manicured grassed square. Sadly, despite the obvious “keep off the grass” signs, there was a small group of tourists posing for photographs on the lawn.
The chapel which was also is also open to the public and is accessed from the quadrangle is also splendid. It is beautifully decorated and furnished.
We thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to visit Exeter College. It was an added bonus that admission was free.
