Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

During the self distancing/stay at home the Christ Church Meadow is still open during the day (closes at 6pm). It is a lovely walk and opportunity to get out and enjoy the sun. The is a small creek running through and nice flowers and paths to walk. Very grateful for this beautiful place.

I spent the summer in Oxford teaching. My accommodation allowed me to walk through Christ Church Meadow early morning and late evening. What a fabulous space for either prepping for the day or unwinding in the evening. My students enjoyed using the meadow as an alternative classroom too.

Christ Church Meadow is a damp meadow serving as a place for walks, picnics, sports grounds or grazing for livestock, including the famous Longhorn cows (an ancient British breed of cattle from the Craven district, in the North of the 'England). Located to the south of Christ Church College in Oxford, England, this meadow, almost triangular in shape, is also bounded by the River Thames (well its section known as the “Isis”) and the River Cherwell. Privately owned by Christ Church College, this meadow also allows students to access the boathouses, which are located on an island at the confluence of the two rivers, and to practice their water sport: rowing. Two rowing competitions (Torpids in March and Eights Week in May) take place on the Isis between the different colleges of the University of Oxford as well as the Christ Church Regatta, organized by the Christ Church Boat Club at the end of November, which also takes place on the Thames.

This is part of a walking tour of Oxford and provides beautiful gardens, river and meadows. All well kept bit there are time restrictions if you want to go inside the college. certainly worth visiting as it is free and a world away from the busy High Street.

The meadow is very big with the river by the side and animals surrounded. Perfect for leisure. I took a walk before I visit the Christ Church and the sunshine was really soothing. Wish I had more time so I could take a nap!

A beautiful tranquil walk around the paths, by the river, up towards the imposing college. A beautiful place to escape and relax. We really enjoyed our walk. Great place to take your sandwiches too, we saw plenty of people enjoying a picnic. Stop and sit for a while by the river and observe the punts going by. We Re named the bench we sat on, the giggle bench.

Came here twice to sit down with a coffee and take a break from sightseeing in a four day trip to Oxford.
The most beautiful surroundings and space. Also Cows. Because so many places are improved by having cows.

Christ Church meadow is a wonderful place for a late afternoon or evening walk. The grounds are spacious and offer a peaceful place just off busy St. Aldate's street. Entrance is free and the meadow was open till early evening each day we were the (April 2016). Fantastic views of Christ Church and the Cathedral. You can follow the Broad Walk over toward Merton College and head up the Merton Walk up to Merton Street, or remain on the Broad Walk all the way to the Botanic Garden. The Poplar Walk heads from the Broad Walk down to the River Thames.

I believe that the trees are limes. A number have been replanted in the last few years to replace diseased trees. There are a variety of other types of tree around the meadow and some are quite ancient.

Are well behaved dogs on leads allowed in Christ Church Meadow ?
Thanks
Written 5 August 2016
They most certainly are allowed. We take our dog with us and yes we do keep her on the lead, only because there are ducks and sometimes geese walking freely along the river bank. Hope this helps
