Lovely grounds for the dogs to walk and play in and tire themselves out before the owners get a chance to catch up over a coffee at the cafe in the grounds. Good size seating area in a nice courtyard, all well maintained. Cafe a little pricey but good service so I don't mind. The grounds vary from vast open... More

The hall is very attractive and contains museums of many types including the natural history artefacts. The grounds include a lake and are a great place to go for the different walks available.... Had snacks and coffee, a slush drink, very expensive for What we ordered , coffee cups very small, but the surroundings were beautiful, great for the dog walking.. staff friendly and fast to service, nice quality food. Busy when we went- mid afternoon, but all very clean and tidy.,

Large mansion now set up as a museum, this is currently being refurbished but most of it is still accessible. Although the exhibits are very interesting, the Great Hall and the painted walls and ceilings of the staircases were the highlight of the Hall for me. The café is nice and the food reasonably priced, which is a bonus. Sadly... More

Parking here cost £4 all day. The card payment facilities for parking wasn't working when we got here. We walked our two dogs and three teenagers for over a hour without any grumbles. Along the way we passed deer, a lovely lake / which currently has blue-green algae so keep your dogs and children away! Into the well presented gardens... More

This is a lovely area of parkland surrounding a fabulous Elizabethan Hall housing an amazing natural history museum. The park is rolling lawns down to a lake which is home to lots of geese, moorhens etc. The park itself is home to a large herd of deer. They wander freely and get very close to you. We even saw three... More
