Based in Nottingham’s historic Lace Market, the National Justice Museum is housed in Nottinghamshire’s Grade 2 listed old Shire Hall and County Gaol.

The Museum uses original Courtrooms, dungeons and prison cells, along with a number of more contemporary galleries to exhibit collections relating to justice, the law, crime and punishment in a fun and interactive way. When visiting the museum you may also meet a variety of colourful historical characters with different stories of justice to tell.

Venue lovely, fantastic Grade II* building, some great facts but very slow paced. Very quiet, very sort of 'a stuffy environment'. Customer experience is key. This customer experience is not I am afraid, worth the money we paid. Our children weren't overly impressed- nor were we. I'm not too sure exactly what could have been better. I'll have a think... This is a real slice of Nottingham's history. From the courtroom, where at certain times one can take part in a trial through the interesting exhibits to the cells, there is plenty to see. First class.

Arrived here in the afternoon and had also booked into the caves which ment we only had about an hour to look around, we found it very interesting and only wish we had gave ourselves longer. The staff are helpful and friendly and the displays informative. We will be coming back to spend longer next time

Very interesting tour given by character guides in costume. You're given plenty of time to look around by yourself while your guide waits. After the guided tour is the exhibition, plenty of information boards for you to read. Well worth the visit, buy a joint ticket for the caves tour.

My 2nd visit to the now renamed National Justice Museum. The format has changed with visitors exploring the museum and timed appearances of the characters. i was a bit doubtful about this having enjoyed the previous tour system but it actually worked well. The new capital punishment area was very interesting. Staff are great here. Very helpful and totally throw... More

3rd time lucky?? Wrote 2 other reviews, which were approved then removed. Terrible customer service, rude staff. Waste of time and waste of money! It doesn't even look like a goal anymore. There is certainly plenty of other places, far superior, for less money close by. Give it a miss!

We did the Ghost tour one night and found it very enjoyable & interesting. Was all good acting and scary yet learnt a lot of the stories about the place! Looking at going back for a normal tour too to find out more!
