Good little beach - great for fossle hunting with the kids Always quiet Dog friendly too - but its also now hard to get to, very little parking (better to walk over from Runswick) and there is now a ladder to access it (not ideal...More

Came upon this place walking along the coastal path. Very steep in places and feels remote. Well trodden path on National Trust land - the views are amazing across to Saltburn and Redcar.

I know this coastline well. A recent landslip has made access to this lovely beach difficult so you must be careful with children as a ladder is involved in one part. Everyone with is made it fine but once you get down it is a...More

We came here purely on the recommendation that we would find some good ammonites on the beach. We were worried about the route down the cliff so we parked at runswick bay and walked along the rocky beach to port mulgrave. It's not a route...More

Turn off the main road as you travel through Hinderwell and Port Mulgrave is at the end of the road. You can no longer get down to the beach / boat landing as a couple of years ago the cliff eroded away. There are a...More

Hidden gem to find the hidden fossils. Had a recent landslide so the route down is a makeshift one and can be tricky. Went down with my 9 year old and it was a great adventure. Route down is not straight forward so you need...More

Port Mulgrave is on the Cleveland Way and the path takes you along the cliff top. You can access the shale beach and harbour to discover a collection of huts - some derelict - where the atmosphere is spooky. You can find fossils on the...More

We came here for the day in August 2016. It was a right adventure for the kids (we all climb and walk). There was a landslide at the beginning of 2016 so the official footpath's been diverted. However, this hasn't stopped some of the locals...More
