Stayed here many times, so good we come back most years. Karen always gives a warm welcome and the cottage is very comfortable and well equipped. It is conveniently placed for Whitby, Staithes and of course the stunning Runswick Bay. Fantastic value for money too!...More

A lovely beach view & nice beach. It is a 4 mile walk from Saithes for those fitter than me. 2 car parking areas & 3 cars parking before café by turning area. The small harbour was constructed in 1874 to deal with iron ore...More

We called here to do some fossil hunting as I'd heard it was a good spot. But we were surprised at just how you have to get down to the beach. Like something out of an Indiana Jones movie! Absolutely brilliant! Narrow paths cut into...More

Came upon this place walking along the coastal path. Very steep in places and feels remote. Well trodden path on National Trust land - the views are amazing across to Saltburn and Redcar.

I know this coastline well. A recent landslip has made access to this lovely beach difficult so you must be careful with children as a ladder is involved in one part. Everyone with is made it fine but once you get down it is a...More

We came here purely on the recommendation that we would find some good ammonites on the beach. We were worried about the route down the cliff so we parked at runswick bay and walked along the rocky beach to port mulgrave. It's not a route...More

Not the easiest place to get to but then if like me you are looking for fossils this is one of the best places. You do need to be fit to walk up and down the rather steep path down the Cliff but it's worth...More

Turn off the main road as you travel through Hinderwell and Port Mulgrave is at the end of the road. You can no longer get down to the beach / boat landing as a couple of years ago the cliff eroded away. There are a...More
