This is a lovely little market, with some interesting items for sale, and food stalls too. Just off the busy York streets it is easily accessible, and well worth finding.

In the area between mands and the Shambles a fairly routine street market. Some better quality food stalls than many, cheese and fish come to mind. 'Market lovers' will think it is great, but to me just a street market.

Shambles market is a great place to wander around. Large arrat of different products. Plenty of local seasonal vegetables and some imported sort fruits. Flower stall is particularly good. High quality flowers very reasonably priced. Wish we had a flower stall like this back home as so much better than supermarket offerings.

This was my first visit to York in about 13 years and I remember the Shambles market as being vibrant, busy with a wonderful range of stalls. Maybe it was just a bad day for the market, there were so many empty stalls, more market traders than visitors, and there was no atmosphere there st all. An absolute shame.

York Christmas Market has a lovely winter festive atmosphere to get you in the Christmas Spirit. The choice of gifts to buy was what I had been hoping for. Thors drinks venue was different and enjoyable. I visited during the week with my husband and returned with my daughter and grandson at the weekend. I will definitely visit again.

Arrived Friday evening and wandered about the city and seasonal market stalls on Saturday. Large variety of outlets and opportunities to obtain something different at 'reasonable' prices. Different foods and drinks plus a Christmas shop open all year! Lots of people, but a friendly atmosphere and no pressure selling

After the disappointments of Leeds ., this was just a great market. Lots of stalls selling excellent crafts and decent food plus of course the traditional market.

Had a lovely day today at the Christmas market, there was a good selection of stalls selling food, wood jewellery and sweets, the hot cider was a lovely change to the usual mulled wine. I'm pleased we arrived in York quite early so we were able to have a look at the goods on offer before it got too busy.... More
