This is such an amazing building to visit and the £10 is well worth it. If you visit York then you need to visit the Minster. The very historic crypt, treasury and undercroft are very interesting.

The inside of the building is very impressive, and there is a little museum on the basement level. I particularly enjoyed the 275 steps challenge, though be careful if you have any relevant medical problems or if you are claustrophobic. The view of the city...More

Great thing to do if wondering around York. We paid the extra 5 pounds to climb the steps to the top of the tour and it was well worth it! The view from the top is amazing, you get a birds eye view of the...More

Love this place so restful and beautiful inside. Quite touristy obviously but as everyone is respectfully quiet it feels like you are the only one there (a good thing and allows you to reflect)

Wonderful cathedral and we'll worth a visit . But for £10 would expect more information boards telling you about the history instead of making g you pay another £2.50 for the book.

No visit to York is complete without a visit to the York Minster, and it certainly makes you proud to be a Yorkshireman

The Minster costs £10 per adult to get an annual ticket and its worth every penny. If you go a little later in the day you can miss the queues, but they are just to get in. Once in, the place is stunning and both...More

My husband and I visited York Minster twice during Christmas. The first was for Even Song - this is a must thing to do and experience. Sitting in the quire and listening to the choir sing was a very moving experience! We also toured the...More

My family and I had a wonderful time strolling around York Minster on Boxing Day. Each area was fascinating and we particularly enjoyed the displays set up in the undercroft. Was great to step into such an important building in British history

York Minster is special but for its lack of bells due to a well known stupid dispute as on TV. The Midnight service was an 80% standing service which did my arthritic knee no good. Amazing to see the Minster building in all its glory...More

We did a self guided tour with no guide or time restrictions. My husband and son took the roof top tour and it was filled over an hour out. Go early if you don’t have the ability to wait. They seemed to run every 45 minutes... More

There are at least 4 services every day. Details are on the Minster's website but evensong at 5.15 on weekdays, usually with the choir, is very popular.
