Popped in here for a coffee and was tempted by the bacon butty! Great value at £3.00 especially as the Hall is in the middle of the tourist trail at the start of The Shambles and near to Coppergate. Will definitely return here and sample...More

Like one of the previous reviewers we found this place by accident. The choice of food was a bit limited but it was 3.30pm and probably getting near closing time. It is staffed by volunteers and very reasonably priced. i.e. tea & coffee just £1....More

Stumbled upon this quaint little place yesterday whilst in York. Good selection of refreshments at excellent prices, served by friendly people and all profits to charity. A quirky little place doing some good. The only thing stopping this establishment getting a five star rating from...More

This is a former church but which is now used as a parish hall and open occasionally to the public with café facilities. It still houses plaques of remembrance.

We cannot fault this - excellent coffee and homemade cakes served by lovely friendly people in a beautiful building. And very good value with profits going to charity. The old church building has beautiful tombs to look at. A real find.

I had always assumed that this was a small Church in the style of other old churches in the City. Having visited (when a charity table top sale was well underway), I now know that it is a 19th century Hall built from the rubble...More

Freshly made food by voluntary workers at a pittance, on a viewing platform entered from the Shambles, with a jumble sale outside with seating. It's so vintage and on most days, unlike Harrogates Methodist hall which is Saturday. Love it
