It doesn't take long to tour this restored Georgian home, but it was very enjoyable. Volunteer docents are in each room and more than happy to share the history of the house. The entry fee was also a very reasonable £7.50.

Well worth a visit to see an original Georgian house. The decorations were lavish and almost nouveau riche for the time we felt but that was interesting in itself.

My wife and I visited here recently for the first time. The entry price is reasonable at £7.50 each and there is lots to see in the house. Also there are knowledgeable staff in each room. If you’re in York, it’s well worth a visit.

Hosts in each room is a great idea and really allows you to gather lots of info and follow the story of the family. It's not a huge house so an hour or so is all that you need, but it's worth it to see...More
