This was my first time here and I felt like a child again. It brought back so many memories of how we used to travel. Loved seeing behind the scenes and the cafe was like an old fashioned platform with props and seating like a train carriage.A fantastic day out for all ages. Good facilities and so much to see.

It's nice to explore vintage trains and modern trains - all in one place! It was a fun experience and most importantly entrance is FREE :) Donations are highly recommended and it is definitely well worth a visit if you are visiting York.

Brilliant place to visit, pay by donation if desired. Loads to see and very informative. The children loved being able to go in some of the trains, my son loved the Mallard! Cafe bit pricey but ok for tea/coffee. Definitely worth a visit.

To be able to get up close and touch these huge locomotives is actually quite moving. The Great Hall and The Station Hall... More
