Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

As synominous to York as the famous Roman walls the River Ouse is a wonderful river that flows through this ancient city.
The name Ouse derives from the Celtic word for water ( Ouse ) ,its fantastic to walk around the river way and you can see how the city developed around the river ,me personally love the pubs and bars that overlook the river,a hot day,a cold beer and river views ,perfect.
A really good way to enjoy the river is to take a river cruise, not only do you get to see the river up close but you get to see the city from a different perspective, a wonderful river, most definitely well worth checking out if you're planning a trip to York .

Worst value for money trip. Went down the river , 20 mins in stopped for picking up people for 5 mins then a bit further down turned around and had same view going back. Couldn't hear the history speaker and view were poor. Toilets out of order. I would recommend to save your money and look up it's history on the internet and walk the path next to the river and save the money

Just to sit and relax. A few vessels taking tourists along the river, folks just walking their canines, or sitting reading. Some bars have river's edge seating and tables. Seems miles away from the throng of tourists.

Deriving it's name from the Celtic word for water ( Ouse ) ,the River Ouse is a beautiful river that flows through York .
There are so many ways to enjoy the River Ouse ,you can walk along the riverbank and just chill out ,you can enjoy a trip on one of the many river cruise options available and see the city of York from the perspective of the river or if you're like me you can visit some of the great pubs, bars and cafés along the River Ouse ,it's just a beautiful and historic river to enjoy if you're planning a trip to York.

Our evening river cruise was so enjoyable. It was a lovely way to cool down on a really hot day and learn a lot about the history of the city.

Been fascinating watching it lapping at the walls of our holiday cottage. Better than TV! It even was on TV as a film crew arrived at 6am to film water. Also thanks to the river we've waved at lots of strangers as they photographed brown water, see photo! I waved at him too.

The River Ouse is the beautiful river that flows through this beautiful and historically important city of York.
The name Ouse probably derives from the Celtic word for water ( ouse ).
The River Ouse is an important feature of York ,so many river cruise boats ply their trade up and down the river and it's a great way to see the city from a different perspective.
Theres lots of great buildings along the River Ouse,we are currently staying in the Travelodge which overlooks the River Ouse.
A beautiful river in a stunning city, well worth checking out if your planning a holiday to York.
