I walked along the Cleveland Way from Whitby to Saltwick bay. The scenery is spectacular. You need to be aware of the tide to make the most of exploring the rocks and for fossil hunting

Great beach to look for fossils. If you go to the right and walk a couple of hundred yards near the base of the cliffs you'll find some in minutes. Very steep walk down to the beach

Parked at the caravan park above the bay as it was end of season and quiet. Accessed via slopes/steps to the beach - save some energy for the return journey! The tide was fully out and we easily found lots of small fossils. Wellies are...More
