A great place of historical interest but it was expensive for what was there. Great photo opportunity wouldn’t return.

Although we didn't actually visit the abbey (due to time constraints) on the open top bus it could be seen as a fantastic ruin and I am sure it would be worth every penny of an entrance fee - there were certainly lots of people...More

Whitby Abbey is the focal point of the town, in a prominent position over looking the town, it run by English Hertige, and they charge absorbent fee to look round.

It's been a long time since I wanted to see Whitby Abbey. It's a pretty abbey and impressive enough. It is the view from the town that is most impressive.

An absolute must do when in Whitby if a little expensive. Lovely ruins very atmospheric. But we felt we should not have had to pay for parking on top of entrance fee.

See it now imagine what it was like back in the day. Great to view and explore close up but it is a spectacular sight when seen from anywhere in Whitby. And it does dominate the Whitby skyline.

Park at the Abbey itself, then you can walk around it no problem. You can either walk down the ramp next to the stairs to the town centre but it is quite steap. The journey back would be a killer too. You can get a bus... More

We visited a tea room at the bottom of the steps in Whitby town (there’s loads to choose from) up at the top I’m not too sure as I haven’t visited one there.
