Whitby was a Whaling port this is a bit of the history of the town. Provides a good photo opportunity! You need to visit the museum to understand the significance and the role that whaling played in the harbour.

Its a famous Whitby feature from the town centre walk around the front and up to this landmark of a whale jaw bones, have to wait to get a good photo with not too many other folk standing inside it, worth the walk.

The Whale Bone Arch on the West cliff at Whitby attracts most visitors, either for the view or to be photographed. If you are on the West cliff, then you cannot miss them, so take your camera along just like everybody else.

A leisurely walk up you are rewarded of great views of the harbour. Rest sit down and just watch the world / boats go by
