We visited the castle and museum on a Thursday along with 150 schoolchildren who were as hyper as you can imagine young kids to be. Despite this the castle keep was stunning . We waited until the school kids went off for a lunch break and had the place to ourselves . Great model keep and good video displays brought... More

We booked our wedding at Norwich Castle after being told we could have photos where ever we wanted. As it was a November wedding we were so excited and pleased with our choice which was not cheap. However, on the day the ceremony itself was lovely but immediately after the wedding we were practically thrown out. When asking if we... More

Castle very interesting with lots of interactive areas - especially for children. Expansive museum underneath - well worth a visit.

This really was an unexpected pleasure. First of all the walk round the outside was a delight with lovely views over the City and then the Castle itself was absolutely fascinating. All sorts of displays, very informative, well laid out and lots of shops etc to visit afterwards. I would certainly recommend this and if you're an English Heritage member... More

For me this was really two places and experiences. The layout guides you into the shop, cafe and museum area. This has a very varied collection of objects in different galleries ranging through Natural History, Roman Britain, Vikings, War, art, etc. A very extensive collection but sadly with little attempt to tell stories as IMHO the best museums do. Even... More

Only the giant Keep is still standing and that does not offer much. However, the Rotunda offers various rooms with the most interesting exhibitions, covering a variety of local history subjects. Good for families. Ideal on a wet day. Cafe offers good grub.

Norwich Castle is well worth a visit. Extremely imposing from the outside , it is more a keep on the inside . The history of the castle is revealed as you wander around .The state of preservation is first class . The story of the castle is presented very well . A real insight into Norman Britain . If you... For a castle I think this place is quite small. Only the keep remains which is beautiful from the outside but there's not much inside. Although I found the castle interesting I think it's more kitted out for children as there is a colouring area, a small play area and several dress up areas. The museum and gallery part of... More
