I have walked along Elm Hill several times and each time I feel so reminiscent of the old ways in Norwich as told in history books. The cobbled stone lane nestled a variey of shops and a nostalgic tearoom that is indeed a hidden gem. The little gift shop in the corner is a treat.

A very pleasant way to spend an hour or two. Various shops, a cafe or two and a cobbled street. It also has a river walk near and one of the oldest hotels 2 minutes away to stay or to have a lunch. One of Norwich cathedrals is also very near.

Beautifully preserved medieval street with cobbled stone road and lovely buildings. Some are small shops (antiques, up market gifts, coins and watches, art galleries and a cafe/restaurant) but some are still residences. Little alleys lead down to the river, including the landing stage for boat trips. There is a small pay and display car park if you must bring your... More

lm Hill reflects the true character of Norwich and its history. Nice, friendly full off history and not changed a bit over many years.

Just a nicew place to have a walk through enroute to other atractions such as the cathedral or river. Make sure you look upwards too. Not much good for wheelchirs or prams due to cobbles.

A quirky picturesque old cobbled street, close by the Cathedral. Some interesting shops with passages through to the river. On every tourists itinerary.

We took advantage of "The Old City Walking Tour". Our guide was informative, amusing, and passionate about her beautiful City. The cobbled streets, crooked houses, old pubs, numerous churches and fascinating historical facts made this a most enjoyable tour. We were somewhat time restricted and will need to do it again to allow time for more photographs and absorption of... More

A truly beautiful, but steep walk, Elm Hill takes you back to a bygone era. We had a relaxing walk and window-shopped. Definitely recommend the "climb" up the hill - it's a treat. VISITED 2014

Back in the 1920s, this lane was due to be demolished and rebuilt. Some members of the council and visionary Norwich citizens fought this plan and succeeded in getting many of the old buildings preserved but with the less attractive structures beautifully renovated in the authentic original style
