If you have never visited the Cathedral of St John the Baptist – now’s the time! The Cathedral of St John the Baptist is the second largest Catholic Cathedral in the UK. After nearly a century as the parish church of the Catholic community in Norwich it became the mother church of the new diocese of East Anglia in 1976. Now a Grade 1 listed building, its external grandeur and magnificent interior, especially the fine stonework and beautiful stained glass, make it well worth a visit for those interested in religious, spiritual or architectural history. You can even take tours up the tower, and see the wonderful views of Norwich and beyond. Since the opening of the Narthex in May 2010, the Cathedral also has an education gallery, a shop, a refectory and a community garden. Not only is the Cathedral an inspiring setting, but it is also a wonderful place to relax. Open seven days a week – 7.30am – 7.30pm. Entrance is FREE. Part of Norwich 12 - an initiative of Norwich Heritage, Economic & Regeneration Trust.

If you want a light lunch or a full meal with good tea and coffee then visit the Narthex at this historic gothic style Cathedral. You will be surprised at the meals and kindness of staff.

Bit confusing.. but there are 2 cathedrals in Norwich. Both have their own distinct charm but have to be honest in my opinion the other one is better. But.. make up your own mind.....

A curious mock up of a church, rather modern but in an older style, the highlight is the stone work, every bit of it is filled with fossils, on the steps, the walls, the pillars.

We have visited Norwich for a weekend a handful of times but didn't realise they had two Cathedrals until our return this month. We have visited Norwich Cathedral in the past a couple of times but this time when we arrived, they were charging for entry. As we had already seen it before, we were disappointed we couldn't just have... More

I attended a meeting in the conference facilities and visited the Cathedral. The Cathedral is beautiful, very well preserved. The conference facilities were good and enjoyed a good lunch. Obviously the menu is limited but some good choices.

Not inspiring from the outside and adjacent to a busy road but suggest forget this and venture inside where I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Amazing stained glass windows and one of the very few places where "holy water" is available.

I'm brought up RC but have a passion for the architecture of any church. Beautiful building, very interesting history and of course that lovely feeling of peace and closeness to God when you go round. A must to visit in Norwich whatever faith you are or not.

More modern Cathedral than the other Norwich one but I liked it more. The stain glass windows are amazing. Perhaps since less visited it retains a more friendly feeling.
