The cast was wonderful. Frances Barber stole the show with her diction and characterization. Nathaniel Parker was not far behind her, as were the two wily Foxes and Susan Hampshire. Great supporting cast. Creative and grand production values. Loved it!

Having already enjoyed, 'Lady Windermere's Fan', I decided to book 'An Ideal Husband' as a birthday treat for my daughter- so glad I did. I booked for the upper circle, but -for some reason and without asking- we were upgraded to the dress circle! What...More

We lucked out with some TKTS tickets to An Ideal Husband at the Vaudeville Theater. We are avid theater-goers and decided to take a chance on this somewhat obscure Oscar Wilde production. We were richly rewarded by a great play presented by outstanding actors. Having...More

Firstly the acoustics. Went to see Wilde’s An Ideal Husband and could not hear the first 15 minutes from the Dress Circle. Seemed to get sorted thereafter. Far too hot for the first act. Literally sweating in our seats. Sorted after the interval when aircon...More

My wife and I attended this famous Oscar Wilde play in this historic London theater. The experience was beyond our expectations and seeing the superb Edward Fox act as father in An Ideal Husband to his real life son Freddie was a bonus! The rest...More

Lovely little theater right on the strand, we saw An ideal husband and sat in the grand circle seat B13 & 14 and we had a perfect view. Lovely helpful staff, pre-ordering of drinks is certainly the best thing to do for the interval. my...More

Absolutely fabulous! (Excuse the pun). Jennifer Saunders is made for the bossy matriarchal role. Subtlety amusing with a deep moral message as is Oscar Wilde. Go before the 7th April if you can, you won't be sorry. Feel good theatre!

I took my mother-in-law and my 11 year old daughter to see the play. I thought this would be a good introduction to Oscar Wilde for my daughter. I was worried that she would not understand if but she really enjoyed the play. The cast...More

Such a great production, now firmly my favourite Wilde play. Jennifer Saunders was superb, as were the rest of the cast. Great fun, with some lovely, subtle touches throughout...I'll not spoil it for you by going into detail! If you can go and see it,...More

Don't agree with a previous review that mentions the sing along between scenes: It was Hilarious and the audience absolutely LOVED it. (some people are stick-in-the-mud) Jennifer Saunders was OK but supported by a wonderful cast. Kevin Bishop was the stand-out performance for us.
