Where to begin? This is the last in a good series of Wilde plays at the Vaudeville. It is his best but the director wilfully ruins it. This production has no subtlety with the cast shouting at a frantic pace. The beautiful lines are lost...More

A smaller, more intimate theatre but absolutely charming. We saw The Importance of Being Ernest which was wonderful. Highly recommend!

A beautiful theatre to look at with the stained glass around the front canopy, beautifully decorated inside and a tiny gem of a theatre creating a very intimate performance. Some of the most comfortable seats I have sat on in a theatre for a long...More

In recent years I've been to the Vaudeville Theatre on several occasions, including two different versions of Oscar Wilde's classic comedy The Importance of Being Earnest and a rather nice Hobson's Choice. Like many such historical venues in the "West End" area, it is rather...More

The theatre is right on the main road at 210 Vaudeville Avenue. You'll be greeted by stairs almost as soon as you get in, I did not note any alternative arrangements so you may want to check with the theatre if you struggle on stairs....More

Play and staging were great and the play is hilarious! Theatre is old and traditional and the seats are a little tight, but overall a great experience and location to see these classic plays.

The cast was wonderful. Frances Barber stole the show with her diction and characterization. Nathaniel Parker was not far behind her, as were the two wily Foxes and Susan Hampshire. Great supporting cast. Creative and grand production values. Loved it!

We lucked out with some TKTS tickets to An Ideal Husband at the Vaudeville Theater. We are avid theater-goers and decided to take a chance on this somewhat obscure Oscar Wilde production. We were richly rewarded by a great play presented by outstanding actors. Having...More

Firstly the acoustics. Went to see Wilde’s An Ideal Husband and could not hear the first 15 minutes from the Dress Circle. Seemed to get sorted thereafter. Far too hot for the first act. Literally sweating in our seats. Sorted after the interval when aircon...More
