Set in the heart of royal London, Wellington Arch was built as an original entrance to Buckingham Palace, later becoming a victory arch proclaiming Wellington's defeat of Napoleon. Crowned by the largest bronze sculpture in Europe, it depicts the Angel of Peace descending on the 'Quadriga' - or four-horsed chariot - of War. Visit this spectacular landmark and feast on the glorious panoramas over London from its balconies. Discover the Royal Parks, and watch the Household Cavalry on their way to the Changing of the Guard. Features stunning views, exhibition spaces and a specialty gift shop.

Great monumental arch at the entrance to Hyde Park. If you're interested in the heritage behind the site, you can visit inside the arch and take part of the views of the Buckingham Palace gardens.

This would be more worth it with the historical background that goes with it. Still, nice picture opportunity.

An English Heritage site - appears to be little known that you can stand outside on the balcony at the top. Lovely views across the parks towards Victoria. Exhibitions about Wellington & the battle of Waterloo on both floors. There’s a lift if you can’t...More

The Wellington Arch is the one monument, which dominates a small “island” in Hyde Park. This parcel of land is surrounded by high-traffic streets, which encircle it. There are pedestrian crosswalks, and even underground crosswalks leading to/through it, but it is otherwise isolated from the...More
