Ambled in after watching a performance of Romeo and Juliet at Shakespeare's Globe. Great authentic pub food coupled with chilled lager. Highly recommend their pork sausage with honey mustard sauce served with mashed potatoes and caramelised onions!

Ate here for a lunchtime - sat outside very pleasant. However long wait for food to be served and then the fish was not cooked properly. Replacement offered so chose scampi instead - this too was inedible. Every piece was wet and pink. Daughter had...More

This pub had great food. I had the cod and chips and my wife had the fish cakes. Both were delicious, not greasy, tasted fresh and were priced right (£13&9.95). The beer was a combination of cask and CO2. The beer staff were Knowledgeable and...More

After a super tour at The Shard we decided to get a bite and ended up here. Went for a chicken sandwich and a burger. Absolutely horribly dry and hard as hockey pucks. Make sure you're dentist is available for immediate service. Even more irritating...More

Annoyingly we had to leave the riverside on our way down the southbank, fortunately we hit this hidden gem in the way. It's a tiny pub, an enclave surrounded by coffee shops, sandwich bars and tourist traps. Great beer and spirits selection. We were served...More

What a really nice place. Staff are friendly. Beer is really well kept and goes down great. A very nice atmosphere and not rushed in any way. Food is good, only had a snack but was value for money.

Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard,
the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond
any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some
time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved
browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street,
foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old
foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks
of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest
