Located in the business district of London they're not open on the weekends. Tucked away in a tiny alley this is a place you have to want to find. You can easily walk passed the alley entrance and hardly notice. Went there on a pub...More

Perhaps the beers should be called holy waters. That's because this place was built by the Bishop of Ely in the 16th century. Not much has changed in terms of décor - though the selection of ales is updated refreshingly regularly. Not the easiest of...More

Awesome find! A true hidden gem. Very old and worth a visit just to sit in 500 year old rooms drinking beer.

Beware, this pub is accessed from two sides, the one we chose was the Hatton Garden side, I had the cider, it was fabulous, also had a plate of pork scratchings, also delicious. Well the cider and the area had an effect on me, I...More

A great historic pub tucked away in holborn. Can be cramped at busy times but part of its charm is how small it is. Oozes history as it was built in 16th century.

(It seems the Mitre is duplicated on here as an "attraction" or as a "restaurant", but not in its principal guise as a pub. Very odd.) Ye Olde Mitre quite reasonably claims to be London's oldest standing pub. It is also one of London's smallest,...More

I visited here as part of a pub crawl of London's historic pubs with my daughter. You might have trouble finding it but it's worth the effort. You can feel the history as you walk down the alleyway and you're not disappointed when you enter...More

Hi Susan, some pubs allow under 18's in. As we here at Ye Olde Mitre are so small without a kitchen we are over 18's only. Many thanks
