Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great to see new friendly bar staff & toned down music instead of screaming hard rock like the World’s End pub. You can now have conversations & a game of pool without being deafened & getting a headache! Keep up the good work & see you soon.

I was born in Camden Town in 1947(Gloucester Crescent). I remember the bomb site that the pub was built on on. The reason for the name was because the paddy builders doing the work had left a cement mixer in the middle of the pub. They then had to knock down a wall to get the mixer out!! Happy days.

Fun vibe, polite staff, average to affordable prices for Camden, cool patrons.
I'd give five stars if waiting for a drink wasn't so long.

I visited on Sunday 29th Dec 2019 and around 1am (they had a 2am license this Sunday) witnessed the bouncers take a girl in both arms and throw her out of the pub like a bin bag. All she did was take the DJ's hat jokingly off his head and possibly (obviously) drunkenly. This is NOT acceptable. ALL SHE DID WAS TAKE HIS HAT. She was on the floor with her legs wide open and underwear showing with two fully grown men on either side of her dragging her out. If I was the girl in question id probably follow up with the owner with the overly physical abuse she concurred. As a bystander maybe more words were said but nobody, and I mean NOBODY should have to have gone through that humiliating, awful and abusive ordeal. Are we in the 1950s again? No. Disgusting. Absolutely disgusting. Seriously - when is that actually acceptable to treat another human being like that especially when all she did was take someone's hat off their head? She could have been flirting ffs I'm just absolutely livid with the staff, DJ and bouncers to have let something like that turn into someone being physically thrown out like you'd see in the movies. Disgusting.

Bartender made a horrifically racist comment to my friend as soon as we ordered drinks, which I will not repeat online. Will not be going back or supporting this business in the future.

I spent four years in London and during my lifetime spent over there this place was like a sort of living room for me.

We went here on Saturday night and the bar staff were only interested in serving locals. They were incredibly rude, to the point that we eventually started helping ourselves to pints as the staff acted as if we were invisible.
The place is worth a visit because of its association with Amy Winehouse but don't stay long, there are much better places in Camden.

…which I loved but might seem out of place compared to most other local pubs now. This pub has some significance for indie music in the nineties (or ‘Britpop’ as some people, even British ones, call it) and that is reflected in the photos on the wall.

I had to visit this iconic Britpop location. It’s a proper dive bar. The bartenders were friendly . There was live music which was pretty loud, but there was an outdoor seating area to get away from the noise.

I've been drinking at The Mixer for 20 years now. I first went there on my birthday back in the 90's...half of Menswe@r were there and one of Blur. I was in Britpop heaven!
When I moved to London 18 years ago I made The Mixer my local. I have literally met half my friends in London there. It was a dive bar (pub) and lots of drunken shenanigans were had.
When it closed last year I was devastated, though I hadn't been going there as much,
I, like a lot of other regulars in Camden, were delighted when it reopened last April.
The new Mixer is great...it still has the same vibe but with a new darker colour scheme, a piano, a proper jukebox and they actually take cards now!
