Truly one of London's best kept secret! A proper English pub, 17th century, filled with old and young, consisting of small rooms, an open fire, low wooden tudor beams, and best of all - an outside wooden terrace – almost alp chalet style -overlooking the Thames right where it curls east and west (great for watching the boat race). With the sun shining on the river, people rowing past, walking dogs and pushing babies along the river, you'll feel like you are in The Wind In The Willows rather than central London.

This was my first time to The Dove. It's an old pub with so much character. I love pubs where I have to watch my head all the time. I had the fish pie and it was delicious. It had salmon, haddock and shrimp in a cream sauce topped with mashed potatoes and cheese. Yummm

Three of us had a great meal here. The battered fish was light and full of flavour and the beef dish was rich and tasty. The desserts were to die for too. The service was swift and friendly and we lost count of the number of people who turned up to eat without booking and were turned away as the... More

Haven't been to this pub for years. I had a pub lunch, fish and chips and a pint of Fullers ESB. IT WAS GREAT. The pub is on the small side so could come cramped quite quickly. The views over the river are great. The walks along the towpath are easy.

The Dove is like walking back into Dickens day! Blackened wood, fires,Oak worn floor boards, beams, river Terrace, various floor levels. An enchanting retreat both in and basking in the sun on the terrace as you watch the river life unfold around you. A must to visit and experience it's unspoilt charms. The food is so so. Thank you very much for taking the time to share your review. I am very happy you enjoyed the view and the atmosphere of The Dove! The conservatory area can get quite cold at time but we do our best to have all the heating on at all times. None of the doors are broken, but unfortunately due to the... More

I met up at The Dove with some school friends I hadn't seen in a few decades. The pub is right on the Thames, which makes for a lovely view when the weather is nice enough to sit outside. We started outside but, being October, it got quite chilly and we moved inside, which was very comfortable and warm. I... More

What more can you ask for, history, atmosphere, the Thames river, good food and drink to be had. On a sunny day you can sit outside and watch the rowers go up and down the river while sipping a cool ale. Meanwhile inside century's of hospitality await.

The Dove is a classic pub by the River Thames. Easily reached a short walk from Hammersmith. The pub also serves good food and a sunday with a pint and a roast is a great day. Be sure to book a table in advance on weekends, it´s a popular place!

Popped in here for a couple of local brews and cod N chips. Fairly busy even before 7pm, staff friendly and attentive.. food was good, not the cheapest but very reasonable in taste and quality.. can imagine gets busy during summer outside..
