We had the most amazing day in London yesterday which included a matinee of Stephen Sondheims Old Friends. Absolutely amazing. It was a camp old time. The theatre itself is beautiful. The staff are really friendly. The bar prices very, very good for the West End. The seating comfy. And the views from the circle amazing. Although of course it was £235 a ticket, so you woukd hope so . Its also great to see the House Full signs as well.This show is highly recommended in a lovely theatre.

Stephen Sondheim's Old Friends is possibly one of the very best shows that I've seen and I'd happily see it again. The theatre is situated in the heart of the West End and within easily walking distance of public transport links. For a theatre of this age, the seats weren't as cramped as I'd been expecting although it did begin to get uncomfortable towards the end of a 2.5 hour show. Staff were friendly the prices at the bar were incredibly reasonable, at around £6.50 for a glass of wine - we'd expected to pay closer to £10.

We hadn't been hear since we needed a wheelchair space but both the Access and the wheelchair area was excellent. The theatre staff were great, Hannah,the Access host was very friendly and helpful. The Accessible toilet was across the foyer, but it didn't seem a hassle to use it before the show. The performance was great and although the area has a slightly restricted view, it didn't spoilt the show for us. We had a great evening and look forward to returning to see the new musical in the new year.

Stephen Sondheim's Old Friends is currently playing at the Gielgud Theater and this also marks my first visit to a theater in London. It has a beautiful interior with ornate carvings on the wall, an exquisite design on the ceiling when you look up, and pretty comfortable cushioned seats. This isn't a huge theater which is good for those seating in the back rows. That means there isn't a bad seat in the house, which is perfect for this wonderful show that we had the pleasure of watching live.

We had a great evening at the theatre 🎭 Our evening was perfect from start to finish! A special mention to James who looked after us so well. The show itself was brilliant! So intense and edgy! All the cast were amazing but especially Sheridan Smith whose talent is outstanding! The people who are leaving negative reviews I suggest you all go to a cabaret show in Blackpool instead! After the Show The cast came outside to sign the programme! Sheridan Smith was so friendly and lovely to everyone! We had pics taken with Her! We had a great theatre experience!

Well, this is clearly a controversial topic! I honestly think that the musical theatre set need to open their minds to this one, it’s intense, brilliant and Sheridan is sublime! Does it require some concentration, maybe!? But this is not rocket science ! its not lines of singing showgirls and showstoppers from the off! But does every west end production really need to be - to be worthy? I am saddened at the public’s response to something so well thought out and produced, Sheridan and cast are utterly amazing ! I thank you for a wonderful performance on the night we attended and I did not see anyone leave or not enjoy what they were seeing …. “ If you always do what you’ve always done - you will always get what you always got” - come on people : open those minds!? X

Well, I thought it was riveting! Booked tickets months ago on the strength of Sheridan being the lead. Our tickets were for late June but following a shock email informing us the show was to close 2 months earlier than scheduled, we had to re-jig plans to see it before May 18th (when it now ends). Apparently, audiences have been bored & confused by the production with some walking out at the interval. That certainly wasn’t the case on the night we attended. The packed house seemed very appreciative of its brilliance & of the supremely stellar cast. Sheridan is mind blowingly phenomenal, as ever she is. The girl is pure, raw talent & brings her mad, vulnerable, lovely magic to everything she touches. She's extremely well supported here though, with outstanding performances from a number of others. But light, sing-along entertainment it ain’t. It's a manic & incoherent watch at times, but also poignant & relatable. I was completely enthralled to the last.

We went to see Opening Night at the Gielgud beginning of April. We booked because we love Sheridan Smith in everything she does. Was a bit concerned with all the negative reviews, but having read the synopsis, we absolutely loved it. Sheridan was fantastic as always and the rest of the cast were brilliant too. It is confusing at times, but knowing the plot beforehand really helped. No one walked out of our performance and it got a standing ovation. It's not an all singing and all dancing musical but a thought provoking piece of theatre. It is a.massive shame its closing early as it deserves better.

My wife broke her ankle last week. We phoned the theatre and asked for assistance as our previously booked seats would have been impossible to access. Not only did they move us, they had a lovely lady called Grace meet us at the door, reassign our tickets and offer to bring us drinks/help whenever we needed it. But it wasn't just Grace, every member of staff we came across couldn't be more helpful. I thought customer service like that was dead in this country. I am utterly delighted to be proved wrong.
