Group visit worth the effort gorgeous spot down stairs in the Foot Stool.
Feb. 2020 • Business
Restaurant down stairs is excellent with open buffet of a high standard with attentive staff and a nice cosy atmosphere. Lunch is busy with hot and cold curry, tartlets, chicken skewers and great desserts. A return visit will be made.

This church is now a music concert hall specialising in classical music. Lots of lunchtime shows. Nice building in smart area behind Millbank

Concert hall in a redundant church
Jan. 2020 • Solo
This classical music venue was previously a church, which was nicknamed ‘Queen Anne’s Footstool’ after the eponymous monarch. told the designer, Thomas Archer that she wanted the church to look like her upturned footstool after she’d kicked it over in a tantrum. The church was badly damaged by firebombing in WW1 and subsequently turned into a concert hall. The auditorium was closed when I visited but I got a tantalising view through the door. There’s a nice cafe in the basement.

Good affordable food and venue
Jan. 2020 • Family
Warm and intimate location that offered a good range of pre-concert food that was wholesome, interesting and reasonably priced. Space is often at a premium so you need to arrive in good time. Self-evidently, very convenient for concerts.

Beautiful setting for a range of music
Dec. 2019 • Couples
This lovely venue is perfect for the variety of concerts that they hold here. We have now been here twice at two different events and both have been excellent. There is a crypt restaurant and interval refreshments. On line booking is easy and you can collect tickets on arrival.

Worth a visit

Unique setting
Dec. 2019 • Solo
Visited yesterday for a Christmas carol concert. Very unique concert hall within a church, offering bar & restaurant services before and after the concert.
Would highly recommend and only a short walk from Westminster.

My wife and I visited with a group of friends to listen to a classical concert. This is a fine building with excellent acoustics. It is a first class venue.

Our first, and definitely not last, visit.
Nov. 2019
Sunday night, and we were looking for something to do. We are rarely in London on Sunday evenings, but with work commitments on Monday morning it make sense to stay over. Our visit to St John's was a bit of a shot in the dark, as we're not particularly concert goers, apart from the occasional big works in Manchester or Birmingham. We attended the NSO Mozart Requiem plus various other pieces with the Locrian choir and Tasmin Little etc. The venue was superb, with great acoustics. The performance was astounding, and it was only twenty quid - best twenty quid we've spent in AGES. One minor gripe - the crypt restaurant was overpriced and poor quality, but hasn't deterred us from visiting St. John's again sometime in the future for another quality musical experience.

Quick snack before a concert
Apr. 2019 • Couples
We visited this beautiful venue to see St. Matthew Passion being performed which was excellent. The restaurant was full and there was no time to eat before the performance started. We did however eat some cake and have a cup of coffee which were both good. We have eaten in this restaurant before and it was excellent with friendly efficient staff.
