I know the title is self-evident, but there is really nothing more to say. I was not really excited about doing this, but when there, I had a great time and glad I did it for the views of London are truly amazing. I went during the day, but I understand the views at dusk are equally impressive. I would... More

we went on the eye between Christmas and new year, the downside was the crowds we waited over an hour in the queue to get on, but the experience was great worth the wait

We may have gone at the height of a busy day. We also had ordered advanced tickets but still had to stand in line (if I remember correctly, you can opt for an upgraded ticket that skips the long line). It's pretty incredible once you get up there. It's not scary but if you're not into heights, the first kid... More

The London Eye gave us a great view of London on a cold but clear December morning. It was great to get the birds eye view of all the great landmarks. The ride in total was about a half an hour; we went first thing in the morning and the queues weren't bad at all. Well worth a visit.

This attraction hits all the boxes as long as the weather is clear. On a good day you can see a large section of greater London. The queue looks quiet scary but move quickly. The pods are larger and can hold up to 25 people at a time. Well worth a visit.

Poor organization put a downer on my trip here. The queue to collect tickets alone was about an hour, and then to get onto the Eye was 45 minutes. The actual ride was pleasant and beautiful views but over too quickly. As someone who lives in London, I would not go on again but think it is something which needs... More

Get your camera ready while waiting in line and take many pictures. Not much more to say. Best time to visit is during dusk, as the city's lights come slowly to life.

This is something that you only see in movies. Amazing views of London all around. I went on a rainy, cloudy day and still was so impressed by London. The only question is... when can I do back!?

Had a very hectic business trip to England. Wrapped it up with a day and night in London. Yes I played tourist, but hey: I was. London Eye is a great way to see many famous sight (unless you want to go inside of them). With limited time, and a future trip already in the works, the eye was a... More

Staying in Southbank

Neighbourhood Profile
Southbank
Big time attractions such as the London Eye and a thriving theatre scene (compliments of the National Theatre and the Young Vic) are but a few of the reasons that Southbank is such a collectively cherished part of town. With plenty of family friendly activities and venues lined up along a pedestrianized river bank between Westminster Bridge and Waterloo Bridge, visitors can always expect a casual and festive atmosphere. On top of all the fun stuff to do at Southbank is the opportunity to simply sit back and admire photo-op views of iconic landmarks like Parliament and St Paul's Cathedral, just on across the Thames.
