About
Located along the Thames River, this iconic observation wheel offers unobstructed views from its glass pods. During the 30-minute ride, you'll be able to see London's well-known buildings like Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, and The Shard. On a clear day, you can see up to 25 miles from the top—where Windsor Castle is. Sunset views here are otherworldly, but nightfall views of the twinkling lights are great too. London Eye can be reached easily by taking the Tube to Waterloo station. You might want to buy fast-track passes online in advance to skip the queues. – Tripadvisor

    Expense but good view
Expensive but good view of the city. It moves so slowly you can’t tell you are moving. We did it on the first day of our trip and it gave a nice view of the city. I think slightly overpriced for a 25-30 min ride.

    Worthwhile Wheel Ride
We found the London Eye to be a very worthwhile endeavor during our stay in London. From above, the views are stunning, it gives you a better idea for the lay of the land, and it moves slow enough; which makes it not at all scary. My only criticism is... I wish less people were in each pod that goes round. Other than that, great views!!
Sounds like you had a great time! We always love hearing about your flight through the heart of London. Come back and see us soon! Views this good never get old! Kind Regards, Helga Customer Services Team The lastminute.com London Eye

Glad I made it to the London Eye this time around
It was my first time on the London Eye and the views were amazing. I opted for the Fast Track ticket but in mid-September the regular queues seemed manageable. Each car on the London Eye allow you to walk around and see different views with bench seating in the middle. The entire ride was probably around 30 minutes or so.
So glad to hear you had a fun day out flying through London’s skyline with us! Don’t be a stranger – come back and see us again soon. Check out the special offers on our official website to grab the best deal and experience London’s most iconic views again! Kind Regards, Helga Customer Services Team The lastminute.com London Eye

    Great
I know people disagree on whether the London Eye is worth it or not. We visited with teenagers and they would very much have the experience - and they were thrilled and thereby I’m happy. Wouldn’t go there next time visiting London as it’s kind of a ‘do it once’-thing. But it was a great visit. Visited at 8PM and there were no people. Great

A wonderful view of the London skyline
Have wanted to go on the london eye for many years but never got round to it. Visited on a sunny October day and I am so glad I did, wonderful views from the top of the wheel. The pods have plenty of room so you can move about and look at the views from both sides. The queue didn’t take long at all to board and the whole process was very smooth and efficient. An excellent experience that leaves you with a fabulous visual memory of the London skyline

    The Big Wheel of London
Rising up above the Thames River, at over 440 feet high, is the London Eye, an iconic structure, that is part of the London skyline. The London Eye gave us unparalleled of London. We were lucky that it was a clear day, so we were able to take great pictures of some the most iconic landmarks in London, such as, the Shard building, Westminster, HMS Belfast, St Paul's Cathedral, etc. This is an amazing 30 minute experience, to see of the great cities of the world from that high vantage point. There is a fee, a bit steep but worth the experience. This a great place to see a sunset (if you're able to get tickets), first date, selfies, and to just take it all in. If you're visiting London consider a ride on the London Eye.
Thanks so much for the 5* review. Sounds like you really made the most of your trip to London, soaring through the heart of the city! We really hope you can come and visit us again soon. Amazing nighttime views of London, no crowds
Wanted to end my London trip on a "high note" (get it, since you go up pretty high 😜) and managed to get one of the last times available on the London Eye before it closed. Since this is the first time I'm doing this, I cannot compare it to a daytime experience but this was lovely. No crowds, I was able to get a ticket and get right on. There were only about 12 people in our cabin so all of us got some quality photo time. London is still beautiful at night so I didn't feel like I missed out on anything. Tickets were £45 which is the regular price, the fast pass was £60 but I didn't buy that. The purchasing system was designed to upsell you so that was a bit annoying, just clicking through so many options. I had to help the guy next to me since it was so confusing. But now that I know what the nighttime view is like, I'll likely go back during the day next time.

    Vibrant atmosphere and thrilling rides
The views are breathtaking and the experience is unforgettable. The wheel itself is an impressive feat of engineering, with its 32 capsules and a diameter of 120 metres. It's a great way to take in the sights of London in a unique way. The light show is especially spectacular at night, making it a great way to end a day of sightseeing in the city.

Well worth it for the wonderful city views
It was a grey November morning and being "off peak" season, the queues were not very long and the process was flawless. I found the ticket price hefty at around 40 quid, especially when compared to the ZAR, however it was a wonderful experience and the first time I've seen London from that vantage point. It put the city's lay out into perspective and as one who has travelled London largely on the Underground, I loved seeing the above-ground view. Well worth it for the wonderful city views. The audio commentary also gives some nice tidbits of info and points out some of the landmark buildings.
Thanks for the review. We know you’ve taken time out of your day to write it – so we’ll be sure to take what you’ve said on board to make the London Eye even better. Kind Regards, Helga Customer Services Team The lastminute.com London Eye

We bought the tickets through the Hop on Hop off tour that gives you 20% off on a combo pricing. You then have to stand in a line to redeem that voucher at the London eye for tickets. If you are planing on visiting after 10am, better plan for at least 2 to 3 hours before getting on the Ferris wheel. If you have a stroller with you, be careful as it gets extremely crowded as the day goes by. If you can afford it, always get an upgrade for 10Pounds, totally worth it...cuts your waiting time to 10 minutes. And as always, never visit without checking the weather. The city is beautiful when it is sunny.

The London Eye is overpriced. The Sky Garden is free (you can get a reservation but can also go and just stand in a fast moving line for the ride to the top (34 floors up). 360 degree incredible views of the city at your leisure, pretty walk around areas, restaurants, places to just sit and enjoy the view. Take a lunch. Buy a meal or drinks. Stay a s long as you want. It's jaw dropping - go!

Fantastic! This was our first time in one of these giant wheels, and it was well worth it! We purchased our ticket through one of the local tourist offices for 29 Pounds, but had it been during a peak tourist season, we would have purchased the Fast Pass with the 4 pound Champagne addition. Since it was Fall, there was no need for a Fast Pass, but with the measly 4 Pound Champagne addition to the 10 Pound Fast Pass seems to make the Fast Pass and Champagne a bargain treat, but we didn't know about it at the time.

The EYE itself just after sunset on a clear cold night was fantastic...All of London at your feet...What a wonder! With our non-specific-time ticket, we could choose our time, and we definitely made the right choice. Definitely choose to go when the sky is clear. The night time view was great, but I imagine the day time view, while not as spectacular, would be more educational for getting your London City bearings.

We bought our tickets online to skip the lines - which was very worth it since many people waited really long. The price might seem a bit expensive, but the amazing view is definitely worth it! I also recommend you to pick a time just before the sun is about to set - it’s magical!

I don’t recommend you to buy a photo afterwards as a memory - the pictures turn out really dark when they print them and are barely visible. Instead, I recommend you to take as many pictures yourself while in the Eye.

Basically, for £30 you get to see some historic buildings, railway lines and modern offices and hotels from various different angles. It's been up 20 years and I've kept meaning to visit but not got around to it until now. I wish I'd saved my cash. Also, the people who load the pods are pretty disorganised and the security is slack.

I was very lucky to have beautiful weather when I was in London and booked a 40 minute river cruise and 30 minute London Eye trip through Trip Advisor for £30 which I considered reasonable. I picked the 11.45 cruise and also booked the London Eye for 1.15 as recommended by another travellers review on here. I had no problem getting onto the Eye and it was perfect. I'm not good with heights but the capsules are so secure and move so slowly, I was able to stand right by the glass. The views were amazing and there's plenty of time to take many photographs. The staff were friendly and courteous and as I use a stick helped me on and off. A wonderful experience.

Booked a private pod experience as a couple. Initially I was concerned as it states a minimum of three adults must be present, however no questions asked on entry and the two of us were fine. Anyone thinking of booking the couples experience or engagement pod then just stick to the private pod - it’s cheaper and just the same! There was a big queue for temperature checks due to coronavirus and we wasn’t sure if this was the fast track. Upon approaching the security guard towards the front of the big queue m he ushered us past the big queue and into our own small fast track queue which took us about 3-4 minutes to get onto the eye rather than the 30-45 it was taking others. We were subject to a quick bag search and ushered past everyone else into our own private pod. Absolutely seamless.

The views are spectacular.

At the end of the experience a cleaner goes into each pod to sanitise which was really good to see. They are clearly keeping everyone as safe as possible.

Definitely a must for the first time visitors to London. By the flexible ticket so that you can choose when you want to during the day. The ticket is only valid for that particular day of reservation. Due to unpredictable weather in London the best advice would be to have a flexible ticket since you can choose the time According to the weather conditions.

London Eye offers a lovely, romantic and breathtaking experience and view of London. It was truly captivating since it is one of the world’s tallest observation wheel and for over a decade, it was considered at top visitor experience in London! Fascinating isn’t?

If I can remember it correctly it cost around £30.00

What you’ll experience:

You will be inside a capsule and you will feel gently increasing excitement as you rise up over the water (Thames). You will be able to see the Houses of Parliament and the Big Ben (which was under construction at the moment).

Up there, you will be mesmerised with the 360 degree views of the lovely city of London while you will gradually rotate. You will have a view of known landmarks - St. Paul’s Cathedral, The Buckingham Palace and even the tower of London!

Lines might be long but you have an option to purchase ticket beforehand to skip the queue.

Best to visit on a bright sunny day towards the afternoon so you’ll have a more romantic view of the sunset and of the city lights.

We visited mid week during the summer holidays as a family with a 9 year old.

We all really enjoyed the experience and the views were spectacular. We were lucky enough to have pre booked our tickets for a sunny and clear day. I doubt we’d have enjoyed so much on a grey, wet day; of which, there are many here in the UK!

When we arrived there was a huge queue, however we were pleasantly surprised to see how quickly it moved. We were shown to a pod very quickly and given the binoculars we’d pre bought. The binoculars cost £5 each and were terrible quality! A complete waste of money. Considering the price of the tickets, we think these should be supplied free.

There’s no getting around it - tickets for this attraction are very expensive. The experience lasted about 30 minutes. We are glad we did it and we really enjoyed but we know others in our pod were disappointed so we’d recommend that prospective visitors weigh up cost against the experience.
